You sir are IMHO most decidedly a person riven by prejudice, spleen and zero self insight. You wouldn't recognise your double standards even if they turned round, faced you and whacked you in the mouth. You really need examples of racism towards immigrants in this country?!...blimey. "A racist incident, according to the police, is any incident, including any crime, which is perceived by the victim or any other person to be motivated by a hostility or prejudice based on a person’s ‘race’ or perceived ‘race’. In 2013/14, there were 47,571 ‘racist incidents’ recorded by the police in England and Wales. On average, that is about 130 incidents per day." YOU GOV poll in 2015 asked UKIP voters if they had racist views:42% said yes and 28% admitted to having racist views. The people who felt attracted to the same party you voted for. Racial prejudice in the UK? Shurely shome mishtake
PS.So her electorate in Hackney voted 55% for her because she is black (and where white people form the majority of the local population)? And there were no working class people in Hackney within the 55%?Can a black person not be a member of the working class in your promised land? jesus wept some more As I posted yesterday,Abbott is a hapless politician. So much worse than others who don't get our anti immigration hordes on here frothing with the same indignation.Certainly not.Take that clown Nuttall as an example. Interesting how some on here bend over so far backwards to not unconditionally say racism against a black person is unacceptable full stop (the "she deserves everything she gets" brigade) but seem so tolerant towards the sins of "their fellow volk". She is IMHO,notwithstanding being an awful politician, somewhat more sinned against than sinning. As I said before, must be because people don;'t like her dress sense rather than because she is a black woman. cue much frothing from the HOL volk Edited by legaleagle (06 May 2017 3.00pm) I asked for some examples....just because you spoke of them. I also said I'm sure it happens....Instead all I get is incredulity as if I were claiming it never happened....You go on your silly rant missing my point and obsessed with your own. You mentioned the ridiculous state of affairs about what is considered 'racist' now. So it's what is in the mind of the alleged victim whether something is 'racist' or not.....It's no better than presuming guilt before you know what happened. Sound bite culture, nothing else. This is what you point to?...It shows how ridiculous and politically correct the whole debate environment is. Do I really have to explain to you the bleeding obvious about why Abbott being black helps her in Hackney? In basic terms it firms up a base for her. You have those who would vote Labour regardless and then you have people who vote because they feel someone represents their race as a minority...They might not vote otherwise. It's the same reason why Obama gained more of the black vote than say Clinton....either of them. I really had to type that? Man oh man. Sure you get prejudice against different races in Ukip. They are anti immigration....It's going to happen...hell you get prejudice against different races amongst Labour voters. Prejudice against cultural difference is a natural response in many people....Of course that gets labelled by people like you as 'racist' but I think that is ridiculous. Of course prejudice against skin colour is unfortunate....But I'd suggest it's very much a minority of people. Where it is a fair assessment though there is nothing wrong with calling it out for what it is.....But there should be evidence for it. Apparently around about 28 percent of Ukip voters say they have explicitly racist views...22 percent for Tories, 18 percent for Labour (no doubt the Abbotts of the party) and 12 percent for the Lib Dems. I'm surprised it is this high for any of them personally.

Read the post again. What I am saying is that Diane Abbott definitely did do what the photo says, and actually more because it wasn't only 80 million or 300 million but about 3 other figures as well, whereas Teresa May almost certainly was not personally responsible for 'losing' 114 files. So, my reply to nick's question was that it is wrong. Right, May dropped them down the back of the sofa. And then some Balaclava man came and whipped them. I have to say that if I had lost that much data I suspect the Information Commissioner would have taken a rather hard line.

I have no doubt Abbott has some experience of racial prejudice against her, including now. I also observe that she plays that as a card with great regularity. In so doing she is an extremely divisive character. If she had class she would try to be inclusive and work with all sections of our society instead of appearing to try to alienate the majority. When you are a part of a pressure group, if you are truly successful, don't you then become an elite in your own right?

I concur with your middle paragraph in particular and would add I don't think this is a problem that is isolated to Abbott alone but pretty much all of the Labour front bench. They have been in opposition all their lives, including being in opposition within the Labour Party against its leadership for most of their careers, they are led by a man who knows nothing other than opposition, and none of them have made the steps towards being leaders. They have a narrow view of life and this is reflected in their actions and words. It's too late for them to change and soon enough they will be on the back benches where they will be free to spew their canary brained lunacies.

Yup, much easier to knock down the ideas of others than have to make the running by innovating and managing change.

Poor old Abbott, she is a prime example of someone being given a post, that she is totally incapable of doing. She and Corbyn have a history, she was sh_gging him in the 70s, so a bit obvious why she got her position, its just amusing its come back to make Labour look a shambles.
