I am actually not sure with A&E

I think you may have to fill in a form. Even if not I suspect illegal immigrants may steer clear for fear.

I wouldn't think A&E is the biggest area of cost for the NHS though

What happens at A&E?

1. Register

I would be very interested to see a link for your statement. Having worked in Immigration/ Border Force for over 40 years I never came across this, my wife still works for BF and is not aware of this, of course you may know better. It is true that foreign nationals who owe money for healthcare received in the UK ( for which they are not entitled) are put on a watch list, should they return or apply for a visa.
