Also, would genuinely consider starting Schlupp ahead of Wilf next week.

Calm down, we're not man united - we don't have the luxury of dropping our main man especially against Arsenal away

After today I am dreaming there may still be a chance of securing Gallagher. He is not super human yet. He ran out of his turbo charged fuel today. Would be so good if Chelsea would let us have him. But then on came Schluppie and bam 2-2.

Sit here feeling a disappointed for the second time this week. But again, the performance was great and it wont be long before we are putting it all together consistently.

Mistakes are annoying, but fixable. Much rather that than the goals coming from constant pressure. I also that we’ve been a little unlucky that the 3 mistakes have resulted in 3 goals, all taken really well.

A few observations:

The high intensity pressing really rattles teams, even players who always look like they have time don’t like to be hurried. Edoaurd leads that from the front which is great to see.

The midfield 3 is working really well. Luka is showing that when he has some energy around him he still has a lot to give. One thing I noticed in particular today was the amount of on pitch leadership from him. Constantly talking and moving others around.

Ward is playing like a man possessed. I’ve always been a bit critical of his footballing talent, but he is playing as well as I’ve ever seen him. He’s the example of someone playing on the very edge of his ability. Effort goes a long way.

PV with great subs today. I was surprised with Gallagher coming off, if he was flagging Hughes would have been the obvious swap. But Jeff came up with the goods. I’m glad Benteke has now been relegated to a plan B, but I personally would still rather not see him on the pitch. As a lot of joy came from the high press, I think we looked less threatening when Edoaurd came off.

Olise took his goal well, and looked to get the ball in wherever he got the chance. Big expectations for him, looked a real live wire. But in the same breath I think the stick Ayew gets is a bit harsh. Right sub, but the guy didn’t have a bad game, worked hard and still produced some really nice bits of skill.

All in all, it was another exciting performance and I’m just gutted we have an international break.

I’m a little disappointed - 3 defensive lapses have cost us 4 points in a week..!!

But that said I am absolutely loving watching us play - and soon the results will begin to reflect our performances..!!

Someone soon is going to get a good spanking from us.

Well done to the team and PV..!!

Totally agree with you. He looks so comfortable on the ball and has great pass awareness.and accuracy.. I don’t want to expect too much fro him too soon.but he looks a real prospect. Without getting carried away he and Eze could be as good as anyone in the league.

As for Luca - played v well today. Have to admit his performances over the last couple years have been generally poor but perhaps how we play now under PV suits him more and we can see the best out of him.

I agree. He had a good game today looking much more like his old self, and wasn't giving the ball away cheaply.
