WE will do well to get 35-40m, the way he's played this season. As someone else said, if he wants out in the summer he might have to set his sights lower or even go abroad.

Wilf's agent will ask for £200k a week ... I don't think Charlton can afford those wages?

Did you watch Watford this evening ... they were terrific. After beating Liverpool they'll fancy their chances against us.

Over confidence could be their problem.
Like the bin dippers against them tonite.
This could be a game where Roy goes back to luka and a defensive set up.
Catch them on the break.
Take a point if need be.

Just back from the match. Not a pretty game to watch.
A great result though, but how did Wilf miss those two at the end? Lack of composure I guess.

I was in the home section so had to restrain myself when we scored but did the have the joy of experiencing the home fans misery close at hand.

I too was sitting with the home fans, in the North East corner. Some of the locals near me were getting a mite upset, which was a joy to watch

Palace had a corner close to us, and as PVA was walking towards the flag to take the kick, the chant of 'w***er, w***er, w***er" emanated from the north stand. PVA wasn't bothered by it in the slightest, he just had a massive grin on his face.

Well done to the Red & Blue Army, brilliant support! Although we were next to the north stand, we could, for most of the time, hear the away fans.

As for the game, Brighton dominated the match, possession wise, and had 24 attempts on goal, with 8 on target. Apart from when Guaita saved an effort at his near post, I thought Brighton were pretty toothless, with the majority of their efforts on target ending up straight into the arms of Guaita. I thought Palace played well, soaking up the pressure, and could have won it by more than the single goal.

Wilf hasn't been himself this season but I disagree completely that he's 'past his best'. Mentally he possibly hasn't been right after what happened in the summer but the far bigger problem is that most teams put 2/3 players on him, knowing they can afford to because we have no theat anywhere else.

The reason that we were so good with Wilf, Yannick and Murray was that they were able to exploit the space that each other created. We've got a worse forward line 5/6 years later and it means Wilf just gets squeezed out. That's why I was so desperate to get Bowen, think he would have thrived for us.

Nail on head. It's because we have no other perceived threat that Wilf is suffering. Ayew draws some attention, but not enough and Benteke does precious little. However Wilf's reputation means that teams double up on him all the time. And he's now so easy to wind up, which causes his game to crumble most times.

It's all a little bit tragic really.

Going on about easy on the eye Potterball. Seemed to deliberately ignore the Guano sub giving Wilf s*** from the touch line. Lucky Luka was there probably.WIlf did spit but nowhere near any player, footballers spit all the time

It was on the cards we would win this one, right from the off we pushed them back and should really have taken the lead.

Nothing like waking up on a Sunday, realising you have won away at Brighton...

If Luka gets a yellow card in the next 4 games he gets a two match ban that may be why Riedewald came on, cant see him not getting a yellow against Watford

Great result. Ratings: Guiata 6, Ward 3, Dann 7, Cahill 7, Van Aanholt 3, McCarthy 6 (Jairo 6), Kouyate 6, McArthur 8; Ayew 4, Benteke 8, Wilf 7.

Benteke 8 ?, rose tinted spectacles here, Cahill was by far the best player on the pitch, don't forget Benteke's job is to score goals, something he can't do, one lucky pass does not rate anywhere near 8 for me!

He has scored 5 PL goals in his last 66 appearances and only 1 since last April.
But he did make an exquisite pass to Ayew for the goal.
I would not give him a rating of 8 but he did play his part in our wonderful victory.

Almost agree although they had a couple of very good chances like we did. Dolly March missing the target by inches and Maupay hitting straight at Guaita. They also had a header saved on our line by their own player. We had equal amount of chances roughly but the difference was ours was on target, plus the keeper was at fault for Ayew’s goal. I felt we may have deserved it more than they did but I’m biased so I’m not sure. Either side could’ve gone ahead and that might’ve been very difficult for us to come back from. We might have drawn or just sneaked a winner. I think we benefited in this one scoring late on, as we have done for most of this season.

Some of the goals scored in time period stats popping up on screen during the match were a eye opening, especially how few from open play in first halves.

Very committed performance and everyone working in tandem so well done to the squad after 2 weeks of preparing before Newcastle to get these 2 wins by competing closer to the opposition rather than standing off. Yesterday was much different to being played through by Brighton at Selhurst earlier this season. The winter break has also helped. One frustrating observation was how easily we lose the ball in a challenge or poor control 30-35 yards out from their goal.
