Our midfield 3 of McCarthur,Luka and Kouyate needs to be changed. Between the 3 of them they are adding nothing to our team.

Roy plays a boring game. Waiting for a penalty and for our capt to score. Not sure to risk playing better/qualifying for europe vs going to championship

As we were very rarely in their box today that was a forlorn hope ..

Absolutely spot on. Our squad is piss poor. Our organised approach is all that’s keeping our heads above water.

Our squad ISN'T poor, but its not superb either. Roy has to take some of the blame...he's effectively coaching what little creativity we have out of the team.

What we had today was a shot to nothing, so we should've surprised them and gone with it, but no; predictably he's given up posession and hoped we could hold out...which is awfuly, negative tactics and means if the team go a goal down it's really hard for them to get back into the game.

Get rid of Wilf! He plays well once in every 5/6 games, the rest of the time its like playing with just 10men. He's simply a flat track bully who plays well against the mediocre sides but goes missing against the top 6.

Drop Luka, who goes sideways, back, sideways, 50yard pass. It's a shame its not NFL as we could bring him on for Pens and then take him back off again.

The ONLY creativity we have is sitting on the bench!

Something has to change. We'll stay up, I'm certain of that, but that 'safety net' is the foundation from which we should be experimenting in these games (knowing we'll pick up points against the lower teams).

Hodgson has said that he is proud of his team's performance today.

Roy gives the distinct impression that losing 2-0 to Chelsea is a decent result.
He also says he didn’t think we were ‘too passive ‘ in the game.
A game where we only had one tame shot by McCarthy and that in the last 10 minutes .
I dread to think what a passive display would look like in Roy’s eyes.
I don’t expect to beat Chelsea.
But if they have a vulnerability it is in defence and they do concede goals.
At least try and score a goal. There is nothing in the rules which prevents a team crossing the half way line.
Today we had three holding midfield players, Zaha and Townsend playing like full backs and Ayew practically playing in midfield.

I suspect that some supporters have their doubts that he will keep us up.

I asserted on HOL before the season started that we would be a hard watch and would send our supporters into slack-jawed somnolence and this is what is coming to pass.

I suspect Parish will replace Hodgson if after Liverpool we don’t improve up to January. I don’t think he will bring in flair players and change the way we play come the transfer window? There’s only One way to play with this current squad with Hodgson as manager. Against most teams we will pick up sufficient points to survive in the Prem. it’s not fun to watch but if Hodgson changes the way we play we will go down. Most of us knew that this run of games was going to be mainly pointless. It also hasn’t helped that some of the players we rely on each week haven’t played well. The main one being Zaha who is so out of form he shouldn’t even be starting? There’s no easy answer as a new manager (who?) may not keep us up. At least Hodgson’s gameplan is known by the squad and should secure a prem place again? I certainly don’t know which way we should go managerial wise as I want us to stay in the Prem. Not sure a change will do that - I’m on the fence :-)

It's known by EVERYONE, which is why it would've been smart to do something different today...

I missed the first 20 min, but what I saw of the 1st half was ok, we kept them at bay and kept possession quite nicely pinging it about and tried to go forward - 2nd half Chelsea upped from the start and caught us by surprise, no response and no more intent to go forward. total damp squib 2nd half but I think the roy bashing is all wrong, with these players we have to keep it tight, we'd get murdered being more expansive in most cases, and if wilf was thinking of moving to Chelsea he did himself no favours today, some of his recent performances have been quiet but he has been cutting out trying to take on a man when he should pass, not today, very poor.

I thought our passing was awful again. Why have we changed from a potent counter- attacking team to a team that doesn't seem to want to go forward?
