Dont forget the reason Cahill came to Palace was because Roy is manager. The guy is now showing why Chelsea did so well in his time there. He is immense. In his role as captain he managed our performance on the pitch. At times it was hard to believe it was Palace out there. West Ham are a strong dangerous team yet we contained them so well. Kelly alongside Cahill is growing in stature as are our wing backs. All so pleasing on the eye. Things are looking very good.

Pellegrini looked a complete turd with his idiotic comments on motd......he either needs glasses or he shuts his eyes when the opposition create chances.

Why was he banging on about set-pieces and saying Palace created nothing from open play?? What about McCarthy’s thunder shot, Schlupps shot cleared off the line, Ayew’s goal........

That was a mature controlled performance .
We looked more fluid in midfield in the absence of Luka and Mcarthur excelled in the deeper midfield role.
We also had the bonus of not conceding silly free kicks on the edge of the area which Luka is prone to concede.
This could have been costly against West Ham who have guys like Anderson and Cresswell who are strong on free kicks.
I would like to see the midfield given another go but expect Luka will come straight back in for the next game.
Sakho and Tomkins may have to wait however.
Kelly and Cahill look a very competent pairing.

He had a face like a slapped arse though.

Well he hates admitting VAR can get decisions correct

We are blessed to have Roy. People also knocked Cahill and Mccarthy as awful signings. Make's me think these people havnt a clue about football.

There is more than 1 way to win a game of ball, not every team can be Liverpool. We have Roy's way and we are doing ok.

It's perfectly fine to imperfectly rhyme,
But "ball" is unforgivable.

What did Benteke do to get a yellow card, having come on as sub in the final minute? (Genuine question; I missed the game as I was working an evening shift).

The only gloss taken off the day was the game between two teams lower down the league - Brighton and Spurs - where the latter gifted 3 points to the former.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

How? by putting his left foot in, left foot out and shaking it all about!

Eel not be happy about that.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Perhaps Pardew was right about him.

He threw the ball away to waste time. In fairness probably the most productive thing he's done for us over the last couple of seasons

Good points. Luka has not really found last season's form where he would not be dropped. Can see him against Citeh, think he has scored the last 2 goals against them but as you say the defensive middle looks very sound at the moment. Nice to see McCarthy have a dig in the first half. Thought he had a decent enough game.

I was in the West Ham end yesterday. The Palace fans looked and sounded fantastic - loved the flares going off. The wait for that VAR decision was painful but the explosion of noise from Palace mixed with the swearing from the WH fans around me was so good!!

It was interesting to listen to the WH fans. Shouting the C word at Zaha every time he got the ball but then talking to each other about how good he is. They rate Townsend highly too.

Anyone see their youth team coach interviewed on the big screen pre-match? He used to coach at Palace and said Zaha was the best player he’d ever coached!

At the bottom of the HOL Home Page, is a piece from a WH forum called Claret&Hugh (Weblog). It states & has a video of Wilf spitting at a WH player. Cant do link thingy on my tablet, sorry.

Was there any mention or uproar about this?
