I'm not sure how anyone can spin this as a positive window when, regardless of the players we have recruited, we have failed to strengthen the areas actually identified by the manager as needing improvement. We have the weakest goalkeepers in the division and a frighteningly shallow pool of attackers. Hopefully Sorloth will prove to be useful but we are still totally reliant on Zaha and Townsend staying fit with Sako now out. It isn't just this window either, we haven't adequately addressed the goalkeeper and striker situations since we got promoted. The keeper I agree on but the striker problem was either done for a reasonable price or we use more of the summer's transfer budget.

You don't know what I like and don't like but you're a very easy wind up and that provides some of the entertainment for me. As to a few games of football, yes that's all it is. I like to see Palace do well but I don't get madly upset like a few on here, plenty of other things in life to enjoy. Where have I said anything about disliking passionate fans? No, of course I haven't and as usual your imagination runs wild. As for 'not liking' Britain, where have I quoted that? Nope never done that. Just because I've pointed out factually some of the negatives of the UK leaving the EU, it doesn't mean that at all. Yet again, you twisting what someone says to suit your own agenda. Also, I don't see in the forum rules that someone has to be 'passionate' and get depressed during a transfer window to be a member here.

We brought in three players, how good they are we shall find out in due course, we didn’t spend a load of money and nobody left so I’m not complaining and there was nothing we could do about the Amadou thing. We’ve managed ok up till now with one goalkeeper so unless one gets injured we will be fine.
Not shedding Mutch and Lee is an issue. However, until their space is filled we can't move them on. On which, I have not read anything but the first and last page in this thread; but if there have been any more nuanced responses beyond "sack the board" and "what a shambles" my apologies and respect to them. This window was not a great one; but it was not a bad one either. We have hopefully got 3 diamonds in the rough at a sensible price to cover defence, AM and striker - 3 areas where we will eventually have more flexibility once those players are bedded in. The goalkeeping problem and Amadou are issues; but this was not down to us dithering or pitching at an undervalue. It was down to the selling clubs not wanting to sell because they were unable to find replacements at their end. We can't do the buying for them. No culpability at all. And I would have preferred more strikers. We were close with both Eder and Huggit - save for the fact that neither player wanted to come to us. Unless you want to put a gun to heir head... I know, this could have been flushed out with proper due diligence. However, please don't discount players expressing a strong desire to play for us through their agents who have an ulterior motive e.g. improve terms at their club etc. This can only be flushed out in the window when true colours are shown.

I'm sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but is an international loan deal for a goalkeeper allowable for us? If there is anyone worth having, it would give us cover at least till the changes that summer will bring. If both Jules and Hennessey are injured we should be entitled to an emergency loan.

If you bother to read anything instead of reactionary slagging off of the chairman which seems to be an occurrence every season now you would know that the goalkeeper they had lined up was ready to come and Brondby decided to pull out of the deal at the last minute because they couldn't find a replacement.... So how is that SP or DF fault is beyond me. There are more things at play than 'ermmmmm I really like your player... Can I buy him'... 'yes of course you can, here he is'. That is the kind of talk people seem to expect to go on. Edited by CPFCwetrust (01 Feb 2018 4.20am) Yes but we only approached them very late on....why? It has been obvious for weeks that Guiata would not be coming until the summer, so why didn't we give Brondby more time? This is happening all the time and is very amateurish (and I have been very vocal in my support of SP). My son spoke to Brondby fans on twitter who were gobsmacked we left so late as he would have joined. No excuses I am afraid.

The manager said he needed 7 people in this window to give adequate cover. 4 players did leave Ladapo Croker Anderson but worse Kalkai who has PL experience. The incomers - one a short term loan and the other 2 no experience at this level but promising. Injuries have been piling up at one a game and long-term, I think lack of cover and fit young players may cost us this time. But Ward and Sakho are back; and Wickham will hopefully re-join us for the run-in.

Very underwhelmed with this transfer window signing 3 players I've never heard of just hope it not a massive gamble and we don't get relegated but let's see what happens
The scouting network in the PL has clearly 'heard' of them which is of course much more important and the club has been lucky enough to land them at Selhurst Park.

I am pretty sure that emergency loans are not available. I guess it is our own fault if we don't get a suitable third choice goalkeeper in.
