I see Nigel Farage did just that today. Edited by Kermit8 (09 Oct 2016 7.51pm)

Yes, it is typical of modern politics, but that doesn't mean the hyperbolic response is wrong. Clearly the timing of the release reflects an agenda, but it still doesn't excuse the basic fact that what he said was wrong. Bigotry in private / bigotry in public; apart from honesty, what's the difference? As for hypocrisy? Human beings are generally flawed. But I would expect someone with aspirations to be the most powerful person on earth to be better than that. Hand on heart, I'd never have said such a statement and meant it. He meant it. It's a true insight into his character. Any claims for being 'boastful' or 'exaggerating' might desperately be an attempt to pass off as alpha-male machismo, but all that does is tell us the type of human he aspires to be. Even being overly generous with context, there's not an interpretation that doesn't demean women. Should leaders demean 50% of the planet? Granted, a lot of his life is in the public eye, which makes it easy to dig up dirt from some decade or other. But it seems too easy. He talks so much s***, his statements are sweeping and absurd, and it's great to watch his downfall. The man is a prick. He knows it and he doesn't even care.

On its own maybe, but this isn't exactly atypical of what he's been continually saying in regards to women, just more unfiltered, for as long as the election has been running. It might be 'boy banter in private' but given his comments about women in public have been only somewhat less offensive, its does have real public interest. It pretty much the icing on a indefensible cake he's spent years baking.

I think the problem is he doesn't know it. You can generally get away with being a c**t if you know it, accept it and people will accept it, because you'll always be genuinely apologising for it.

Have said it before but they're both such terrible candidates that I couldn't bring myself to vote for either of them. My X would be going next to Gary Johnson, Libertarian candidate.

Who doesn't know what Aleppo is and can't name a single other world leader? Hasn't managed to cover himself in glory either so far in the campaign. Polling seems to suggest Trump just about won the debate yesterday (which I found surprising from what I watched) but the damage is already done. Clinton isn't likeable or believable, but she is a coherent candidate. Trump isn't likeable, believable, or coherent.

I am convinced Trump is a decoy, either that or trying to sabotage his own campaign because he doesn't want to be elected (I think South Park hit that nugget before I decided it). He's just a decoy to get another sh*t candidate in by virtue of being comparatively palatable. Gary Johnson is a good shout, as I don't think Cheltenham Town are going to want to stick with him much longer.

I think its either a publicity stunt or performance art that has 'gotten out of control'.

Of course he also has had lawsuits filed against him regarding child sex offences, been accused of rape by Ivana Trump (later retracted in public as not being literal criminal rape) and of sexual harassment and attempted rape by an employee (Ms Harth), which also includes Jeffery Epstein (a convicted sex offender and known associate of Trump).

The only certainty regarding the result of this election is that there'll be a 'sex-case' living in The Whitehouse.
