I agree with most of this. The left generally do support policies that are actually harmful to ordinary working people in this country. It is a sort of misplace patriotism. They cannot be patriotic about their own country as of course they see the UK, the USA and Israel as the root of all evil. So they are fervently patriotic about people and countries that fit their politically correct worldview.

Now I would 100% put my kids' welfare above the country, so if I thought doing a runner with them would make them safe, I'd probably make that call, but I agree it's tough to reconcile with the fact that many of the people travelling are young males alone.

Personally I think its unpatriotic and unBritish to not offer shelter and safety to refugees and the victims of political oppression. Certainly since the second world war, has had a policy of refugee and opposition to oppression and granted safe refuge to those at risk of persecution from oppressive regimes, even when those individuals have not shared British views or values.

This isn't immigration, its Asylum. To confuse the to is obfuscation to a political agenda, when the issue is a humanitarian one.

MI5 has its hands full monitoring radicals from this religion and they must despair at the prospect of an increased workload. Except they don't get Job Seekers Allowance. Whilst awaiting decision on your asylum application you receive 36.95 per week for a single person, and a couple with two children will receive the highest figure which is 178 a week (for all four people).

Housing benefit is paid, but having been unemployed and in receipt of housing benefit, it goes on rent (and in some cases is paid directly to the landlord or council).

No ones living the life of Riley on 44.50 a week budget.
