Apparently true and with a hefty pay rise to boot.

Great news. Something magic is happening at Palace. He has been a big part of that and why would he want to miss it as it starts to get going. It only seems like a minute ago all the plaudits where being piled on Brighton and we were the pour relation in the league. Now everybody is saying our players are going here and there, our sporting director is going here and there and even our new manager is going to leave. What a load of bollocks. Lets hope we do something Brighton couldn't do and hang on to what could be an amazing team and manager and really push on and finally establish ourselves as a force in the league and not just there to make up the numbers. Happy days

There were some nice comments on Twitter from Newcastle fans after the news came out saying he was staying. They were quite complimentary about the way he had conducted himself and the fact that he had ultimately shown some loyalty to us by staying. I guess they are still quite peeved about Ashworth but he only went there for the money in the first place so has no feelings for the club. He and Manure probably deserve each other.
Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that. |

I hope he stays but there must be an element of frustration in the job. Only Dougie knows how many time has has told Parish to sign a player and we didn't due to money and that player goes onto to bigger and better things. There are always ones you miss and ones you are glad that you missed so I guess if the answer is a lot then I would be saying to myself what's the point. Dougie puts in all the hard work finds a potential star and then watches as another club picks him up. Who are these players we missed out on, that have gone to better things? The only one i can think of is Jarrod Bowen, who happened to be a Hammers fan.
