Now that the dust is settling after the disappointment one thing we should all agree on: finally, and on balance, we really are a joy to watch..

This with bells on!!

It might sound a bit silly but I now have a spring in my step on a matchday and look forward to it!!

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

I'm still angry with VG - that basic mistake just should not happen and its not coincidence using his feet is his biggest flaw. VG has got us out of many holes in the past so wont be holding any grudges against him! I can see Butland getting some game time later in the season.

However as everyone has said, its so refreshing seeing palace having an identity and game plan and being so positive. Theres still some tinkering with the team needed imo but I am so happy with PV's palace right now and the direction we are heading. Can you imagine Eze and Olise in this team. Oh my days!

And Brighton came into the game hoping to go top of the league for the first time in their history.

They came away with a lucky last minute draw.

I was thinking about that. When VG got injured perhaps, PV should sub him for Butland to run down the clock as we had one more sub available to use.

Maybe bring Butland in would be a good idea. Not saying VG isn't a good goalie, but everybody needs a kick up the bum occasionally, and Butland isn't Hennesey, is more than capable as a replacement.

That's the first time we've really been the better side against Brighton for a long time. They were terrible under pressure at the back and repeatedly gave the ball away. It shows what can be achieved with a high press rather than sitting back. Edouard and Gallagher's pace meant Brighton's defenders were not afforded any time to pick a pass, which was so refreshing to see.

We have a really great team spirit and work ethic at the moment and the players seem to be embracing PV's philosophy, even those like Ward who I had worried might struggle. We're still lacking that bit of creativity in the final third, but with Eze, Olise and Hughes still to come in (and possibly even Rak-Sakyi) that doesn't concern me greatly.

Looking at their next run of fixtures and based on last night I'd be surprised if Brighton are still in the top 8 by November. Although they get the joy of a last-minute equaliser, in the cold light of day we can take pleasure in the fact that we stopped them from going top of the league - a chance they'll probably never get again Maupay can think on that as he polishes his size two adidas boots.

The more I look at VG’s kick out it makes me angrier. He has a very weak kick out anyway but yet chooses to take a short run up and ends up kicking the ball like a 4 year old in his aul fella’s slippers. It is not the only reason we drew the game but when there is 30 seconds on the clock that is criminal, especially when he had all the time in the world to think about it.

He is not a class goalkeeper as a lot of people think , he is an average goal keeper. Who can’t catch, awful in the air, can’t kick and is terrible with the ball at his feet.

I am sure DF is on the lookout for a new keeper because he is a major weak point in our team, especially with our new style of play.

not Sure why VG is getting the flack he seems to be getting... what was wrong with that kick ? have I just blocked it from my memory ?! Just a kick, went a fair distance, maybe too straight but seems harsh on him for me.
The problem for the goal was once that initial ball was sent straight back, (i'll give the Brighton player the benifit of the doubt, and say it was a good ball forward) our defence had turned off. Guaita was caught in no mans land but thats due to how quickly it came back and how little pressure the defence were putting on.

ok, just watched it again - not a great kick. but cleared the half way line. Lack of height meaning that benteke had no chance to contest, as it went straight to a brighton head.
Defence still the main culprit though.

He kicked the ball to the half way line to the only place on the pitch there was no Palace player. It was a shocking kick.

Benteke wasn’t near it. It was Zaha.

Typical of Brighton fans to celebrate a draw like they've won the Cup.

They've just failed to go top (despite only having not beaten a team in the top half).

Are you saying we wouldn’t have done the same?

Lets face it .... we were a joy to watch with our attacking football. Shame we couldn't get that second goal, every team leading by just one goal are always fearful and we were the same.
If we had scored an injury time goal for a draw away from home we would have been celebrating like nutters.
Onwards and upwards I say ... more of the same play against Leicester and I for one will be happy as a pig in s***.
