The opposition now have two players to worry about which was why I drew the comparison. Eze looks as composed and as dangerous on the ball as Zaha.

The big surprise for me today was that we didn’t miss Batshuyai. Yes we didn’t have a clinical finisher on the pitch but we still caused problems.

I think there could have been a couple of goals in it for Bats in the last 15 if he got on. We could have scored 6 or 7 in that.

Apologies then, but there had been plenty before you too.

No worries. Believe me, I'm the first to call people out for moaning, whining and a sense of entitlement.

Great stuff today. Bit of luck on the way but even if we'd drawn the game I would have given the team credit for going forward more.

Absolutely fantastic result and performance. See, we can bloody play well and win if we just show some ambition! Please, please Roy don't now go back into sitting back mode after the international break, it's so much better when we have a go.

Well done to them all today, fantastic all round. Other than a couple of defenders missing that's not far off our strongest line up.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

That was a Hodgson performance from his first and second season outstanding performance. More of the same please ive been very anti roy lately but thats because I know this is a talented team and we could be winning games with a bit more style. I don't expect Brazil I just want to enjoy watching palace like I used to. Well in boys.

We were a bit fortunate, but we had crap luck in some other games, so it evened out.

Glad to see Eze taking corners, and it was a good one for our first goal.

The announcers were insufferably fellating Leeds the entire match. They seemed annoyed that we won because it went against their narrative about how wonderful Leeds is.

2017 Feb. (Van Aanholt) Palace 1 - 0 Middlesboro
2018 Jan. (Sako) Palace 1 - 0 Burnley
2019 May (Batshuayi, Batshuayi, OG, Van Aanholt, Townsend) Palace 5 - 3 Bournemouth
2020 Feb. (Van Aanholt) Palace 1 - 0 Newcastle

We’ve never been a fashionable team. Proper English football club with a low ratio of prawn sandwich fans. Great win. More of this please.

Goes to show we can play attacking football when we want to. Hopefully Roy takes stock of this and let's us play more expansive football.

Think £20mil for Eze could prove to be a bit of a bargain. Great performance.

The more expansive game seemed to be largely a result of Leeds chasing the game leaving space for us to attack on the break.

We had better players and got the tactics right. They got it wrong. We also had the rub of the green a few times. But that shouldnt detract from the players performance.

I do think that offside rule is bad. You cant see if the ball has left the passing players foot. Same happend to Bats against Brighton. Only saving grace is that its exactly the same for everyone.

It was a game we expected to win. We did win. Well done everyone involved. You cant do more that win. Job done, next game.

Yes, as an old skipper of mine used to say, "winning beer tastes better".

No we weren't, Leeds were way too open and we made the most of it, they should've scored another two with Bamford but then we had other good opportunities, the score line flattered us yes but that was all.
