There are a lot of assumptions that only Roy can keep us up with the current team. I’m pretty sure there are plenty of managers out there who can do the same and play in a more entertaining way. Before anyone asks the normal condescending question “who”, like they normally do, I have no idea. But then again I am not in the professional game as is no-one else on this board. I judge everything by what I see on the pitch and what I currently see is not entertaining.

I notice you give no examples. Who do you think we should be emulating? Personally, if it’s the price of staying up then I’m happy with Roy’s approach. It might not be pretty, but after many years of watching this team I am enjoying seeing us as a regular feature in the Premiership. That will do our long term reputation a great deal of good and we will pick up fans as a result. But I accept that it won’t last forever and have sympathy for the viewpoint that puts style and entertainment before mere survival. It’s just that I’ve had already enough years of ‘entertainment’ in the lower leagues to last me a lifetime!

Here here! Me too! Unless we get bankrolled our progress will be at a snail's pace at best. Even then we need the money that comes with being in the Prem. If we get relegated we will be back at square one. Yes our aged players will disappear because we won't be able to afford them. The upgraded academy will take years to produce a pipeline of half-decent players and we could well find ourselves in the same position as Sunderland, Stoke, Middlesbrough, Charlton, QPR etc. etc.
If we were good/lucky enough to get promoted again we would face the same problem of no money to improve the squad-the difference being we would be even further behind the other Prem teams than we are now.
Finally, (and this is selfish) I'll be 70 next year and I don't know if I would still be here the next time we got promoted so I want to enjoy/endure our current stay in the Prem for as long as possible.
So for me - whatever it takes to stay up is OK by me.

Are you sure he gets given them or does he ask for them? I’m not saying either is correct or incorrect.

You have two choices to improve your team, spend big or buy wisely from the lower levels. The first is not permitted by our tight wad owners, the second. Dougie either isn’t producing the goods or Roy is poo pooing them because they are not established players.

I would hope Roy tells Parish/Freeman what is needed and then its Freeman as DOF job to go out and get them with Parish approving the deal and signing it off!. Unfortunately it's getting the deals over the line that has been the problem in the past and whilst I do not know I suspect that Parish and the Americans are the problem in so much that they appear to be reluctant to invest anymore in the team and really want to sell-up. What they have to understand is that the value of the club is much greater in PL than what it would be in the championship. Like you I agree buying smart is the key for a club of our size. Let's hope we perform at Leicester today!

Whatever happens regards who will be manager next season, surely starting today we should start experimenting with formations, youth etc for next season. This season means nothing now, apart from the odd million table wise.Should be treating the remaining games as a pre season for next season.

Your pretty sure there are plenty of managers, who could do better than Roy, but you don't know who they are, so how can you be sure?
How many teams in the Premier, actually play entertaining football out side the top 8 who have the players to do so, except Mourinio who doesn't like entertaining football. You could say Norwich play entertaining football, but I am sure their fans would prefer winning now and again.

Hodgson has been reading these threads.
He’s actually making a change playing Riedewald AHEAD of Kouyate and Mcarthy today with them both on the bench.
I hope he does well.

No, we are only going to have this conversation when we play boring shiite football at home against average teams. Funnily enough that covers the last 3 years.

But look at the last 3 years, we have finished in good positions. We are likely to have poor games but it’s not throught the whole season

There you go, the response I was expecting, glad you didn’t disappoint. Our club is full of people in the professional game, I am sure they can think of plenty of people who can do the job. Just because you can’t and I can’t doesn’t mean they are not out there.

As for teams who play more entertaining football than us, I would include Everton, Sheffield Utd, Wolves, Leicester, Southampton, Newcastle, West Ham, Brighton, so if you include Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City, Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal that is 14 out of 19 excluding Norwich who play suicide football.

Think fans wouldn't mind a defeat if we were experimenting, but the starting line up looks pretty familiar.

Absolutely contrary to Parish's utterances regarding the future lying with the academy, RH never gives the youth a chance. Yes, they may be on the bench, but do they get 10 minutes? Hodgson's inability to make timely substitutions is the stuff of legend, yet he has players who are probably champing at the bit to take part, yet he never uses them. Frustrating.

I’m sorry & you can slate me all you like but I can’t take this s*** anymore I just want to see my team try to play attacking & score the service up top is quite embarrassing.

This has been so easy for Leicester yet we ha e been at fault for both goals.

Please please it’s time for a new manager I am fed up with people constantly making excuses.

Even with a change of manager we still have enough to stay up 10 wins in 38 with 6 draws.

They asked us to give our money to the youth etc what’s the point they don’t get a look in the only reason we stumbled across AWB was due to injuries more luck than managerial expertise.

Enough is enough

Not even sure I can be asked next season.

I would much rather lose most weeks like we do but see us play with a bit more attacking threat & excitement bring back Alardyce.
