My mate had a chat with Wilf this morning going through Gatwick on his way to the Caribbean Pardon my scepticism, IF, your mate 'saw' Wilf going through LGW when there were hardly any flights leaving, WHY has CPFC posted up that Wilf & a few others were attending a community project TODAY? Just asking. Edited by eagleman13 (10 Feb 2020 4.44pm)
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

I love Ayew but realistically he shouldn't be the lead striker at any premier league team. We've had no fit right winger and only have defensive minded midfielders available to us. Yet we're 14th in the league, we've won more games this season than Arsenal and have given some of the top teams in this league a tough game. As much as we are 6 points off the relegation zone - we're also 6 points off 7th in the league. Yet people are suggesting that Roy should be sacked when there probably isn't a manager available to us at this stage in the season that would do a better job. Ridiculous. If we are winless in the next 4 games, then and only then should we perhaps worry.
By then it will be too late given our run-in. And why do we have such few quality attacking players and loads of defesnive midfielders?

Good question, I don't know the factual answers to the question - however, none of the answers I come up with can be placed under the blame of the manager. And because of that, I cannot see any positive reasons why Roy should be sacked at this point in the season. No other manager, available now, will get better results out of this team than Roy from now until the end of the season, in my opinion.

I did a super approximate count. 25 yes votes, 56 no votes. So approximately 70/30 split. I ignored major waffle and anything where a verdict wasn't obvious quickly. I lost track part way through but couldn't be arsed to start again. my 70/30 split would be about right, unless the "Hodgson out" crowd are being more verbose. I would guess the answer to: do you want Roy in charge at the start of next season would be 60% yes, 40% no. The next 4 matches are, as others have said, huge.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

If we lose I think that's 10 games without a win. No manager survives that... and in those 10 games, he'd have made no attempt to change his losing formula.

It is frustratingly futile trying to get common sense into the minds of some of our fans, but you've at least given it a very good go.

Just checked. He was sacked with 1 win in 11. The win was a 3-0 victory against Southampton. The last result was a 1-0 home defeat to Chelsea with the line up: Hennessey, Kelly, Dann, Delaney, Ward, Mcarthur, Ledley, Cabaye, Zaha, Puncheon, Benteke. Bench: Speroni, Fryers, Townsend, Campbell, Lee, Mutch, Husin. I miss Cabaye and a slightly younger Puncheon, but we probably have a better team now and almost certainly have a better squad.

Slightly off topic, but I would guess whether you are pro or anti Hodgson it would have to be acknowledged that Hodgson is not a long term solution.
