Considering the injuries to the squad it's been a great Christmas. Some real positives in Riedewald looking good, Wickham scoring and a youngster getting a chance and making an impact. Negatives is clearly the injury situation but maybe, just maybe this will result in us being a little quicker out of the blocks during the transfer window. We can only hope! Well done to all the players and Roy for digging in and never giving up. COYP

Brandon Pierrick looked a very exciting prospect. Fast, skilful and confident. He improved us and that's not easy at 18. So pleased for Wickham. It was a striker's goal. Here's hoping he can carry it on -- here or elsewhere.

He is the only player to start every game for the U23s so far this season. In his own words - a “direct, quick and powerful” forward. He's been doing really well this season.

Delighted that Wilf at least had an assist to show for his skill and workrate. Although not match-fit, Connor showed he has lost none of his striker's instinct. As for our brilliant keeper, Guaita, he's got fantastic reflexes and coiled springs in each boot. Finally, well done to Roy for astute substitutions. COYP

Now back from the game... Many may disagree, but I thought Riedewald was outstanding. He is strong, likes to get forward, passes the ball well and a real threat down the left wing. I also noticed the other players have a lot more confidence in him. He was the main threat today.. There has never been a better chance for him to show us why he was brought into the club... He appears to be loving the opportunity to play... And perhaps cement the left back position permanently...
