Really really dislike Capoue, marginally more than Deeney. Unfortunately the fact is that this will happen to Wilf, and referees will not protect him. It's a completely unfair situation to be put in, but that's the reality - and if Wilf can't get up and deal with it, then he can be bullied out of games as we've seen several times. This is one of the reasons why a big club hasn't bid big money for him yet.

It makes you wonder what the refs see and don’t see. The fact of the matter is Wilf is the most fouled player in the Premiership and the stats don’t lie. He was booked yesterday for something the ref clearly didn’t see. As for Watford someone needs to tell them this is an entertainments industry which seems to escape them time and again. The reason they are where they are, is their constant rotation of managers and their luck is about to run out. Pearson will be driving their coach to the Championship, and bloody good job too! A thug to run a team of thugs, what a dreadful prospect if you are a Watford fan, or come to think of it any fan forced to watch them play.

Watched the highlights, there was more physical from Watford than in the Joshua Ruiz fight. What a bunch of thugs. For Deeney to complain about being man handled by Cahill - what about Wilf being wrestled to the ground half a dozen times?

I understand that the players were very tired after Tuesday and that Watford had a new manager to impress, BUT failing to have a single shot on target against the bottom team who hadn't won at home for 11 games is simply not good enough. Re Zaha, yes he was targeted again by Watford and had no protection from the ref, but he has to stop allowing himself to get riled by these teams.

Typical responses when we play Watford: 1. They are thugs For goodness sake! We were just not good enough ? A decent, well coached and advised team would have risen above this. I am afraid Brighton will show us up again, like they did last season.

Other players like McArthur and Luka do seem to be more readily stepping in these days to intervene when things get heated, but sometimes I wish when you get a player like Capoue someone would just 'accidentally' step on his foot, or 'accidentally' run into him off the ball just to let him know anymore of that sh*t and he'll be hobbling off the pitch. I think if you behave like that you have to expect it back. Sometimes I miss the old days when teams had the attitude of 'You hurt one of ours we hurt one of yours'. I guess there is a darkness in me!

Watford played to their strengths and came away with a point. Still respect the clean sheet and the point.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

They were clearly going to target Wilf and show some muscle and knew how we would be set up, like every game we play. Therefore we perhaps needed to throw a curveball in our line up in attack but Roy isn't that type of manager. We will see the same line up against the Weeds. Bottom of the league, no real manager, lacking goals, a shift in our style might of worked and might of been the game to let loose. Even with a makeshift defense we look sound at the back, which earned us a point yesterday. We must surely be the most unbalanced side in the division, in relation to attack and defense. However this season so far we have done far better than what I expected after a fairly modest transfer window to say the least and loss of one of our best players in AWB, who as an aside looked fantastic yesterday for ManUre
“ [T]here are known knowns; there are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns; that is to say there are things that, we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns – there are things we do not know we don't know. ” |

I guess there is a darkness in me! It's not darkness it's just a side of the game has been "expunged" - IMO the game has gone too far the other way, the game needs physicality. I was one of those players - I can still here my Dads words - "let em know your around"..!! A good strong challenge is equally as uplifting for the team and crowd as a great piece of individual skill or a great pass..!! But unfortunately IMO it's being eradicated from the game - which is a shame. I wonder how even the likes of Roy Keane and Steve McMahan would fair today - both good footballers but hard..!! As for the likes of Vinny Jones - they wouldn't even finish a game..!! Can you imagine what VAR would make of the infamous Vinny Jones "nuts in hand" incident with Gazza..!! Still brings tears to my eyes..!! Different times..!!

Yep, Hodgson's doing a shocking job. 8th in the table, having to shuffle the pack because of injuries. 7 points and 3 clean sheets in a week. It's time we got a decent coach in.
