Only the club management have those details. Three new signings and many still moaning showing how clueless they really are. Still, it's great entertainment to watch so many get so stressed and act like children over what at the end of the day is a few games of football, quite remarkable If it's just a few games of football and not worth being that worked up about, why are you a member on here? You don't like Britain, Britons or our passionate fans. What are you doing here?

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Sums up this transfer window' by Midlands Eagle I'm not sure how anyone can spin this as a positive window when, regardless of the players we have recruited, we have failed to strengthen the areas actually identified by the manager as needing improvement. We have the weakest goalkeepers in the division and a frighteningly shallow pool of attackers. Hopefully Sorloth will prove to be useful but we are still totally reliant on Zaha and Townsend staying fit with Sako now out. It isn't just this window either, we haven't adequately addressed the goalkeeper and striker situations since we got promoted.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Sums up this transfer window' by Midlands Eagle Lets get the Goalkeeper situation into perspective. Yes ideally we need 3 keepers, and probably we could do better than Hennessey. However, is he really that bad in comparison? Currently a first choice international number 1, was in the European "Team of the Week" only two weeks ago and without him the win at Chelsea last season wouldn't have happen. I know we had a few Aston Villa's and there is his problem "Consistency." Hopefully the problem will be solved with the arrival in the summer of Vicente Guaita but is it realistic to think we would pay £8m today for someone we can get for nothing in 3 months? The club tried to sort out a short term fix but failed. To get someone who is any good especially a keeper in the window it was always going to be hard.

Well the question is not what we think but what does Hodgson think? In public he'll be terribly polite but in private will he think that this is a reasonable portfolio of talent given the strategy of getting unknown but well-scouted players based on Freedman's nose, or will he think that he identified key gaps which haven't been addressed? Presumably the question of how OK he was with Hennessey and Speroni until the Summer must have been discussed with him because if he really had a problem with it we could have put down the eight million Euros. Once we had Sørloth concern about other strikers seemed to go away, and again presumably he was happy with the idea of spending potentially 140 million crowns on him. Penny for his thoughts ! He did mention that with the injuries we needed 5 or 6 players.

Great work ethic and our best player on the ball for 2 seasons. Think back to the playoff final where our starting striker was Wilbrahimovic and our option from the bench was a 40 odd year old Super Kev. Benteke is definitely a massive upgrade, and we've had a number of strikers since being in the prem, one of which we still have is decent but long term injured. Strikers are difficult to find. This Sorloth bloke looks a prospect.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Sums up this transfer window' by Midlands Eagle The manager said he needed 7 people in this window to give adequate cover. 4 players did leave Ladapo Croker Anderson but worse Kalkai who has PL experience. The incomers - one a short term loan and the other 2 no experience at this level but promising. Injuries have been piling up at one a game and long-term, I think lack of cover and fit young players may cost us this time.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Sums up this transfer window' by Midlands Eagle I'm sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but is an international loan deal for a goalkeeper allowable for us? If there is anyone worth having, it would give us cover at least till the changes that summer will bring.

Not the disastrous transfer window some are moaning about. Missed out on a keeper for now but surely Hennessey and Speronf can see us through 13 games! It wasn't that long ago that one would have thought that our defensive pairing of Dann and Sakho would have easily seen us through thirteen games too.

Good Morning I very seldom get involved in debates on this forum but read with interest instead. Like many I am disappointed by our January Transfer activity but I don't think it was for the want of trying. It is not helped by the hype created by Sky, various newspapers and the social media crowd all generating rumours. Let us face facts. We have a squad that should just about see us through, a new forward that will contribute soon, two bench players that will get up to steam earlier than March, some players due to return from injury and a support that on its day can carry this club through difficult times. Parish and Co may have screwed up some deals but what is done is done and we now need to get behind those who want to wear the shirt and get clear from the relegation zone.
I am enjoying being back at Selhurst and having a beer with my mates just like we have done for the past 40 years. Through Thick and thin we stick with our club. Not chairman, players or managers, OUR CLUB! |

Sky announced Sorloth was his way to London at 10am yesterday. He would have got here by 4pm at the latest.Medical 2 hrs max, contract negotiation say an hour as he was desperate to join all done and dusted 8 pm at the very latest. Announced to the world 11pm. Parrish gets prime time headlines. Every window this happens. He seems to forget that transfer windows are about bringing in players and not massaging his own ego and we are still short of a striker as our 2 backups are playing in Div 1. A right back and a goalie. Exactly what we were needing in the summer. Starting to think SP is the reincarnation of Ron Noades.
