Taylor Swift...all her songs are about failed relationships....and none about blow jobs, could be the reason.

Think the singer character in Godfather 1 was allegedly based on Dean Martin..

Think in the USA the expression is being part of "the family" as in "you're family" or what I was once told by a long term resident in Las Vegas:"Things were much better when the families were in charge"!

My first proper date was with Debbie to see Slade In Flame, now that was a rubbish film/band. I got my hand in her blouse though so win win.

The character is Johnny Fontane and he's based on Frank Sinatra. He appears in Godfather I and III.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Yup,my misremembered mistake, though thought to be elements of other singers in there too, including Dean Martin.

"Johhny Fontane is based on Frank Sinatra, who is believed to have used his mob connections to gain a part in From Here To Eternity.Incidentally, the actor he replaced was Eli Wallach, who later played Don Altobello, a role written for Sinatra. The details of his split with his first wife are similar to those of Dean Martin.

The story of Luca Brasi threatening a band leader to release Johnny Fontane is based on an event in which Willie Moretti, a New Jersey mobster, held a gun to bandleader Tommy Dorsey's head to get Frank Sinatra released from a contract.

The appearance of Jonny Fontane and presence of the heads of the Five Families at Connie's wedding is based on the wedding party of Salvatore Bonanno to Rosalie Profaci, which was attended by singer Tony Bennett and many mob bosses from across the United States.

Al Martino, who portrays Johnny Fontane, was actually one of Mario Puzo's models for Fontane, as he once worked in a Mob-run nightclub. When Martino wanted to move on, he was severely beaten and soon after left for Europe, where he performed for eight years, before returning to the United States."

I love Kate but no way is her version better than Elton's. I quite like William Shatner's one. Unintentionally hilarious.
Not sure why there is Elton hate. His earlier albums are classics, especially Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.

Kate Bush's best album is her first one, The Kick Inside. The next two are pretty good and the Hounds Of Love is mostly great.

I don't hate Elton... I don't like any of his songs that he sings and think he was a t1t over that threesome business getting a court injunction when we all knew who the three were.

I get it that you like his stuff, but I don't.... it's all about our own musical taste and there will be stuff that we both like, and stuff that we disagree on good or bad.

The music business in the 50s and 60s (and probably ever after) has always had an attraction to Organised Crime, but I suspect that it would be more the manager who was involved, rather than the artist, notably Jewish organised crime, which in the US traditionally has very close and strong links to the National Crime Syndicate - and as a means of 'legitimising' themselves and spreading the reach of the New York gangs across the US.

I am going to add R.E.M. to the list.

Michael Stipe is a bellend. Plus their music is terrible.

Quoted for truth. I'm sure someone else has put Bono and U2 on the list of wa*k.

Anything that calls itself Rock when it's drummer and guitarists aren't even fit to be roadies to a proper Metal act.

If anyone puts Jamiroquai on their list though, I will personally offer to insert a buffalo hat into their rectum free of charge.

Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune)
