No its entirely right and frankly the exact reasoning you display is why children can still me murdered and have justification, intellectualism and pontification put behind it. Probably 'natural order' was a wrong choice of phrase but animals will generally kill purely as a survival instict or for food. Humans with our supposed higher reasoning and intellect should have evolved beyond such things but we continue to kill each other in droves on a daily basis and find paper thin arguments to support it
You can't reasonably say something is 'entirely right' and then say you probably chose the wrong phase. I'm answering you on your words used, not what you might mean. Also, saying animals 'generally' kill for food also has nothing to do with the reality. Ever seen a fox in a chicken coop? Ever seen a well fed cat go out and hunt and kill? Animals often kill on instinct alone. Humans are animals, being 'higher order' makes no real difference to the drives we are born with. 'Paper thin' arguments? Really, unless you are actually in a conflict like this you aren't going to understand the depth of feeling within it. War creates hatred and fear and desensitisation. Maybe if your child or someone you cared deeply about had died because of a rocket or from a bomb dropped from an aircraft you might feel somewhat differently about 'getting on'. Even if you didn't, it really isn't for you to expect or ask others to have your attitude. They live it, it's their choice.

You obviously haven't read my posts in this thread. I was simply correcting your inaccuracy regarding 'the natural order', nothing more....Blimey.

If I'm wrong about something and it can be accurately pointed out then I view that as valuable constructive criticism. You are more than welcome to point out any mistakes in reasoning I make. However, maybe others can't really accept criticism.......Many can't. To be honest I wasn't looking for an argument. I've stuck to your statements while you are resorting to personal attacks. That's ok, I'm not going to do that in return.

So, when Israel argued that upgrading the Palestinians' UN status would "hurt peace", what they really meant was 'if the UN upgrade the Palestinians' status we'll throw a strop and do something really tw*ttish and provocative'.

A leads to B. The UN vote was bound to result in something like this. In a sense it doesn't matter, the gloves are coming off. Lets get the killing out of the way until people are ready to vote for moderates. All this is just kicking the can down the road. The ceasefire forced diplomatically on the Israelis was rather predictably claimed as a victory by Hamas. A bit of a joke really considering what actually happened but very typical of them. if you don't think that an upgrade of the Palestinian status at this time isn't going to worsen the situation in terms of peace then you just weren't following the situation. This means the Palestinians can join UN committees and push for things like official war crimes and so on. The US and elements in the west won't agree to that. It will add more polarization and lead to more conflict. No one is going to force the sides to make peace. It's a pointless action in that sense.

So this latest episode was started by the peace loving and gentle Palestinians kidnapping and murdering three Israeli teens which the perpetrators knew would draw a response from the IDF and the more militant parts of Israeli society. Quite how some people can defend these people is beyond me.

Quite how some people can defend these people is beyond me. I'm not really sure either side can be defended Matt. After the war ourselves and the Yanks decided to make an idiotic move and helped force a Jewish state in Israel. The irony is that prior to this Jews and Muslims had been living in relative harmony. We caused what has been 60+ years of hatred and war. As it is the Israelis pay for settlers to move to the Palestinian part of the West Bank, the Palestinians murder these 'invaders' the Israelis then use their American funded arsenal of weapons to smash the Palestinians. In turn the Palestinians fire rockets at border towns. The Palestinians murder Israeli teens and blow up busses, the Israelis assassinate political figures and use airstrikes to kill innocents. Unfortunately that is the Middle East situation. Both sides are filled with both innocents and horrible butchering people. Stirling, personally I get what you are saying but each day there is no conflict is another day diplomatic means can be sought.
