Please, say this wont be true, CG? . . . [Link] I doubt he is for sale, he is a regular starter for Chelsea. Usual media nonsense, along with the price of £50m, which we arent going to be spending on one player. Lerma on a free was great business, £50m for Gallagher isnt.

I kinda assume he was in shop window but every appearance probably reduces his value. Newcastle were supposed to have been interested but that was before Tonali joined. I reckon West Ham might still be in for him especially if Paqueta leaves but he did himself no favours on that front today

Feel free to disagree, but Ward Prowse would have been a good buy. Character. The guy's a tit. That could be why.

That said he's 23, it's unlikely that CG's value is going to reduce and will probably be higher at 27 at the time a contract with us is up. Spending that kind of money is always a gamble...injuries and so on.... but if he's available I can see someone doing it.

If Doucoure goes to the bin dippers then Gallagher is not a natural replacement. My opinion and others have mentioned it is that Gallaghers best position is where Eze plays so he is not needed. We spent most of last season applauding Doucoure but bemoaning the fact he couldn’t do all the defensive work on his own, so we buy Lerma who is the perfect midfield partner for him and Sheffield was an encouraging start. It would not be great if we now look to offload Doucoure and replace with Gallagher. If Curtis Jones was to come in the opposite direction then that would be more like it and would leave funds for a forward or winger. I also see recent click bait saying we have turned down a bid for Mateta which is disappointing and if true likely means we are holding onto him for this season.

I thought I saw something on here saying that Chelsea turned down a 45m bid for CG from Wet Spam so as much as I enjoyed him being here on loan it dosent seem likely that he is going to return unless its tied into some kind of Michael Olise exchange. As we are not likely to be spending 50m on anyone & MO is just about the only thing we have that Chelsea would want. Originally posted by Canterbury Palace
Would love to see Gallagher back but depends on price. I reckon he's worth 30-35m. If we could get 70m for Doucoure and buy Gallagher for that, would be good business.

Lets just hope we don’t lost CD as we not come close to replacing him with any player we could get.

Gallagher is a fantastic player when played in his strongest position. He is being ruined by being asked to play in a role he's not that good at. As has been said, now Eze is in the middle he doesn't fit in with us, but I don't buy into this narrative that he's not that good. He is, he's just not a utility player. Funnily enough I think he would have been a cheaper and better option for United than Mount. Edit: just saw the Mateta post. Are we going to make a profit on him? That would be something.
