It's a shame in view of his effort but comparing Ayew to Olise Ayew gets tackled a lot because he runs into trouble but Olise is much more nimble and avoids the crunchers. Only one of his passes failed to reach the target and his finish was sensational. He will give the right side more offensive balance and because of this Edouard / Benteke should get more crosses. I'll be interested to see if Hughes can add something more constructive to our midfield. I am Luka's biggest critic but have to admit he played well today although his free kicks/corners are still poor.

I still get shivers regarding the way we defend. Our midfield gets over run still although we look fantastic going forward. Milo had another solid game and has learnt how to pass but when he goes on a jolly we need to have someone drop off. We were super second half and we have lots to be optimistic about. Still to naive at the moment but so looking forward to bashing up the Arsenal for our first away win. Ollise must start instead of Ayew, jmo.

Another fantastic performance. We look technically good on the ball, creating space by dropping deep in possession. We’re playing with such high tempo and aggression in the tackles and now we’re creating chances. All this and we’re still in the gelling process. Even Wilf looks happy. I think something special is starting and we’re gonna be right up there soon. A dream start for Olise who looks a handful, Eze to come in, all young players who will improve with experience. A couple of slightly weak links in the fullback positions but they’re both doing a job. We just need to cut out the individual errors because they’re costing us points. Leicester are a really decent side and they were extremely fortunate to get away with a point.

Impressed with Vieira's decision to make his first substitution after just 53 minutes. 37 minutes of Olise has wetted the appetite for more. Will he start ahead of Ayew (or possibly Schlupp) against Arsenal? The frustrating thing is that we will have to wait for another 15 days to find out (I don't like international breaks).

When Quaita had the ball he preferred to give it to one of the defenders to play from the back. In contrast to Schmeichel, why Quaita didn't like to kick the ball up field for our front 4 to attack ?

We were the better team today yet again. Frustrating that we failed to turn our first half pressure into goals but we played well. When we went 2 down i turned it off (as i did often last year when a game seemed to go against us) but quickly decided to turn it back on and support my team. Glad I did as they did not let me down. Standard of play is really good. We just need to convert chances into goals. Still feeling very positive.
Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that. |

My two penn'orth on the dropping of points: If you draw a home game - any home game - you can rightly say that you have dropped two points. If you draw a game - home or away - that you ought to have won, then a different phrase is needed; "thrown away" perhaps. Ergo on Monday we dropped two points because we threw away two points (some might say). Today we dropped two points and Leicester threw away two points (their fans might say, although we might differ from that view). As an aside, what I hate is when the so-called experts in the media say that two teams who have drawn have "shared the points". No they haven't; they've each taken a point. To share the points, each team would go away with one and a half. Edited by YT (03 Oct 2021 6.38pm)
