Celebrating that one lads. I remember going up Highbury as a youngster and being sick after 20 mins cos we were 3-0 down. And that was how it was. What a different world now. We are like a load of marauding pirates. They were scared of us. What a treat. We ran them off the park. The mighty Arsenal we were all over them.

With respect, that belief is devoid of ambition. I am no longer grateful to be in the PL. I believe we have earned the right to be here. I often remind myself of the adage that if you remain constant in football, as opposed to moving forward, than you are going backwards. Arsenal were there for the taking tonight and we let ourselves down, regardless of the opposition.
With respect, that comment is devoid of realism. Is it possible your comment let yourself down? I often remind myself of many an adage and they aft go astray...

I’m of the opinion that this was a good result. Yes, we had some chances and on another day may have nicked it but this was certainly a point gained rather than two points lost. What I was most pleased with was our work out of possession. Players were united in supporting each other and worked tirelessly to provide cover. Whilst you couldn’t hear them talking, it seemed like communication on the pitch was really effective and players knew what their role was without the ball. After some abject defensive performances this season, I really took heart by our defensive game- well drilled and organised. To many, the game would have been a bore draw but I think we’ll get plenty of plaudits from true football observers.

Where were all these "happy with a draw" palace fans when we beat the mighty Arsenal 3-0 a couple years ago under BFS? thats playing them out of the park means, literally out of Selhurst. This game was winnable IMHO

Same opinion here. that result looks good in the context of recent s***ty Royball performances. 7-0 being one. outside of this fact, this was a winnable game for us, given the quality squad we have

You're an easy man to please clearly, and perhaps you're very grateful to be in the PL. Don't let the fact that the point came against Arsenal temper your expectations of Palace. Had the result come at home to West Brom would you still be as jubilant? Point is Arsenal were there for the taking. Palace had two chances, yes, but they had many more opportunities on the break to do serious damage to Arsenal and failed. Basic passing let us down. But the result was not against West Brom was it, we beat them 5-1 away. Yes, I think we could have won this but we didn’t lose. People saying how poor Arsenal were, possibly because we did not allow them to play. I have long been a critic of our passing ability and throw ins and last night did nothing to quell my criticism. However I am not going to moan about an away point against a team who were going for their 4th straight win

In the spirit of finding something to complain about, I thought Townsend was awful. He looks like a bench player to me. The more annoyed I got by him, the more I started focusing on watching him, and the worse he looks. Couldn't pass, lost every ball he contested, gave the ball away often. He was a one trick pony with speed on the wing, but he's even lost that. He can't outrun anyone now. I'd like see anyone else on that side.

shame we didnt get the win we deserved, however this is normally the sort of game we let a late goal in & go down 1-0, so the point is most useful.

I'm truly baffled by people who were unhappy with last night's performance. I don't think there was one bad performance on the pitch, with some players like Ward, Bentenke and Mitchell perhaps having their best games of the season. People saying that Arsenal were there for the taking seem to be ignoring the fact that if we'd committed more men forward then it would have opened up space that we refused to let Arsenal have. I think you could give MOTM to almost any of our players. On a side note the one thing I found really frustrating was Arsenal's incessant fouling every time we got in their half, especially of Wilf. Xhaka and Luiz both did intentional nasty ones on Wilf that were clearly intended to hurt him, but which were cute enough that they wouldn't get done for it (one stamping on his foot the other hacking him down and kneeing him in the head). It seems Arteta has taken the Man City book of how to stop counter-attacking teams.

Good performance tonight with much more energy and passion this recent weeks. Notably Wardy and McArthur were bang on it. Infuriating we have the three donkeys to up front. Benteke’s 1st touch is like he’s playing with a beach ball, Ayew does everything right until he gets in the box then f***s it up and Batshuayi can’t be trusted not to be offside so never gets a game. If we had a half decent striker we probably would have beaten a very lacklustre Arsenal. This really is the crux of the matter. When Parish and Pardew decided that a marquee signing (Benteke) was needed to further the interests of the club, they blundered enormously. After a decent first season Benteke has managed just 9 goals in 4 seasons! His huge fee and ridiculous wages has hampered any chance of signing a quality replacement whilst he is still under contract and impossible to offload. Yet the club extended his contract, why? He's not going to get any better and no club is going to pay his wages given his piss poor scoring record.
