If Murray had started I don't think we would have won, but he didn't and we did. PvA had another really good game and the whole of the back four looked solid. I liked the look of Riedewald in centre midfield but he needs to stay on his feet more. Tekkers made some solid contributions and if he hadn't missed I'd have praised him a lot more. Zaha was poor and seemed to be playing for himself. The heavy pitch didn't seem to help but that's not much of an excuse.

What are you for real..!!

Please let's get over this "Murray Love In" - he's 36 now and left us nigh on 5 years ago..!!

What did Murray do to make you come to that assumption - err absolutely nothing in my book..!!

Tekkers on the other hand played really well today - it's coming with him..!!

We beat Brighton away, we now have 36 points with 10 games to go - one more win and flip flops on - enjoy that..!!

Jeez..!!

If you flip it round and upside down it becomes WB.

Wilf hasn't been himself this season but I disagree completely that he's 'past his best'. Mentally he possibly hasn't been right after what happened in the summer but the far bigger problem is that most teams put 2/3 players on him, knowing they can afford to because we have no theat anywhere else.

The reason that we were so good with Wilf, Yannick and Murray was that they were able to exploit the space that each other created. We've got a worse forward line 5/6 years later and it means Wilf just gets squeezed out. That's why I was so desperate to get Bowen, think he would have thrived for us.

Anyway, great win over the scum today and we can actually look up the table rather than down now. We're only 5 points behind fifth FFS.

I’m not going to shoot you down at all, I agree. I said during the summer transfer window we should’ve taken the money offered and we should!. He’s done virtually nothing this season and is a shadow of his former self and seems to have lost his pace..

We should’ve sold when his stock was high last summer as we’ll get far less for him in the next window after this seasons form.

The highest bid was Arsenal’s and everyone would’ve gone mental if we accepted. If Everton offered £60-65 mil I’d have taken it and I said do vs Hrolf at the time. The Everton rumour of £52 mil was just a rumour and still lower than everyone wanted, which was £80 mil. 80 wasn’t realistic then and now 50 isn’t.

Sad thing for Wilf, is that if he left for big money, the fans of the acquiring club would be far from happy. You would think he had learned his lesson the first time around. Man U would not play him, and the Cardiff thought he was a waste of space. He needs to get his head down and work on his fitness and speed in the summer and put in a big effort next season - otherwise he will just fizzle out to nothing but a good memory for the bulk of Palace fans.

Well done Tekkers, Van Aanholt, Dann and Cahill today.

Bournemouth and West Ham now both winning.

Would mean huge pressure on the mincers.

Normally I would agree with you but today he had several one on ones and sprints against a turning defender and only really beat them once right at the end of the match when he then blasted over the bar.

He could be injured, but if he is then he shouldn’t be playing. If he is not injured then I am worried that he has lost his yard of pace that previously made him unplayable, as others have suggested.

Great win though and as many have said, the next 4 games would define our season. We are now two games into that run of 4 and chalked up two hard fought victories so we’ll done to the team for the way they have played and the doggedness they have shown.

Well how we got away with that I will never know. Our passing and movement at times when trying to play out of defence was woeful and we looked so slow when moving forward. However when you win you must have done something right though what it was escapes me at the moment.
A shout for Benteke today some of his through passes were great just a shame about his goal scoring efforts but he contributed well. Safe now COYP

Brighton played some good football but up top they were powder puff and their shots were all soft as butter. They just seem too nice this season and lack that bite and resilience that they had last season. Murray would have thrived on those 6-/18-yard scrambles and while he may not be the player he was he has a knack of finding the net (for both sides) in these games and knows how to bully defences. I'm not saying he is still a top PL striker btw, but Maupay might as well have been passing the ball back to VG for how tame his shooting was. I agree that Tekkers had a good game (aside from that miss).

Brighton now 3 points off the relegation zone after today's fixtures, and Villa and Watford have a game in hand over them.
