Even Shearer was moderately amused that someone who spends most of their time using extreme gamesmanship would be crying for the penalty. Deeney sounding a bit desperate.

typical jaded performance after the midweek game, i've seen us fall apart in these type of games.
Clean sheet and a point is what we got and we need to understand that's plan b - it's just fine.

watford can't play football at the best of times, their game plan, stop the oppo from playing and we all all know how they know how to stop, effect zaha.

The deeney incident, i have seen them be given and with VAR lurking it's literally squeeky bum time when stuff like that occurs. If that was againt liverpool etc it would have been a VAR penalty without doubt.

Agreed. None of us are shy of a gripe or two, but let's not elevate it to the point where we detract from what's been a successful season so far all things considered. At the start of the season we'd have taken top half in a heartbeat.

One further point.
Yes, Zaha was petulant today but he was severely provoked.
If there was one game I could bring Jedi and Delaney back for it would be Watford.
They would not stand for any nonsense.

You can understand him losing his rag when he’s constantly being hacked down, preventing him from playing his game and the ref then books him. Sometimes it helps him though didn’t think so yesterday. Really really dislike Capoue, marginally more than Deeney.

Watford have not improved greatly at all you are making up even more rubbish they only had 3 shots on target all game.

Being physical doesn't matter if they want to be silly like they did you exploit it and you keep winning freekicks then punish them with them Palace don't do this no brain football is Palace issue.

WHat do you expect from Kelly the guy is a center back yes when he was younger he played at that right position but it was a differ style back then also that was with much better quality players.

The whole team was poor excluding the keeper we should be ripping these apart yet same old dull defensive football trying to keep the ball when we are poor on the ball so end up giving it away.

We had 3 shots all game how is that acceptable to the team that is bottom of the league

Considering all that and playing a bunch of thugs fully supported by some awful refereeing I was very happy to leave with a point. Watford know of old how to rile Wilf and get away with it. If Zaha is guilty of anything it is not learning that this is how teams disable him. Cheat, wind him up, constantly Niggle him and he will blow. Happens every time. It was like watching him last season at Southampton. He even clapped the ref for his booking which at the saints got him a red.
I reckon that is what Roy was saying to him. But even after all the abuse from Watford he still shone. A point was a great result from a poor game

Ayew had our best chance. He was clearly tripped before he shot. he blazed over because he was off balance from the trip. Jordan doesn’t miss from there!!
So why didn’t the ref use VAR and give a penalty. There was no advantage? If Ayew had dived he would have got a penalty but I am so glad he didn’t and went for the shot. True sportsman.
So the ref and football ignore all that and let Watford get away with no pen. Well that just sums up how refs expect players to dive. That was such a clear trip.
Shocking from the men in black.

Don't think so as Atkinson would have bookd him for diving.

It doesn't excuse our poor performances generally because we deserve to be bottom but we've come out of the wrong side on VAR a few times this season.

Now yesterday was one of those debatable ones but we've had goals against us still given despite clear handballs in the build up by an attacker.

As I say its our fault for being rubbish but its been a bit frustrating to potentially miss out on points due to VAR.

As for Zaha - well we know the story and it's long debated !!

Indeed but your lot certainly are tops for thuggery against him. It would be interesting to hear your view on his booking! In case you haven't seen it I have hopefully posted a link

Must admit our guy certainly did trip up Zaha and then they both went to ground.

It makes you wonder what the refs see and don’t see. The fact of the matter is Wilf is the most fouled player in the Premiership and the stats don’t lie.

He was booked yesterday for something the ref clearly didn’t see. As for Watford someone needs to tell them this is an entertainments industry which seems to escape them time and again. The reason they are where they are, is their constant rotation of managers and their luck is about to run out. Pearson will be driving their coach to the Championship, and bloody good job too!
