Pulisic only cost them £58,000,000

That's 60% of our squad in one player

This is a genuine, innocent question, though it might not sound it. Would you at half-time have calmly said "ok, they're f***ing good but keep doing your best", or would you have torn strips off them for laziness and lack of interest, as many posters on here would have done?

"Tearing them off a strip" is beyond stupid. They weren't being beaten because they were lazy. They were being outplayed and would be as disappointed as everyone. Demoralise them and then send them out to play the same system? Really clever management!

So I would have done what has been done. Alter the system in response to what they have faced and start again. It was impossible to do that without explanations in the dressing room. It's been better but not better enough.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

Personally, the team is still trying so no, I would not tear a strip off them. Sometimes you just get a better team playing to win and there isn't much you can realistically do about it. You just try to minimise the damage and put it behind you, focus on next game. That's just my opinion.

Success will lie to you but failure always tells you the truth.

Yet again we set up so defensively against a team where we shouldn't get a result

Why not have a go ! I feels so sorry for Eze and Ayew ,Both played in positions that they are uncomfortable with and they subbed off !

I can't stand another season of this nonsense. If we lose to the bigger Teams we don't care but we do care if we surrender without any fight

I said during the Everton game we might not reach 40 points this season, can't see anything to change my mind. The players don't look interested and half of them know they'll be gone along with the manager.

PVA should never be allowed to wear a Palace shirt again.
He ignores all instructions and never ever marks his man.
He is a disgrace to his profession.

I could not agree with you more. Plays exclusively for himself. One downside of us allowing the manager’s contract to run down is that a bloke like PVA who so plainly couldn’t give a flying duck still gets a game. If the manager knew he was staying next season and the player wasn’t, surely Mitchell would be playing if even half fit.

This has proved, benteke must be kept for another year and if we get a new manager, play to his strengths.

I still think we could have been beaten 4-1 (might get worse) and played a little more exciting football. The 1st half was so so so s***, Chelsea were very good but we sat so deep and were so negative. It’s like we invited Chelsea to an attack v defence training session. You sit that deep and let better players have the ball with no pressure they will destroy.
I’d rather have cc as manager or pardew back after that half.

I enjoyed the free kick in a dangerous area that Luka played short to Zaha who then dribbled it off the pitch for a goal kick.

It's like watching Brazil
