Thought Ward played very well all game, controlled most of their attacks especially Richarlison.

Sickening to loose, but unfortunate?

We has one attempt hitting the goal in 95 mins - one - Kouyates header!!

Good passing, but never dangerous, and when we get a tatget man in, we do not even try to feed him.

Our new central defence is really well, but will we manage more than 30 goals this season. I doubt.

Never seen Benteke play then have you?

Not sure what your momentum is like when you're running or moving but you must have no arms and the balance of a buddhist monk...

What I'm trying to say is your dig at Ward is unwarranted and a joke.

The better team won if a little fortunately. The difference in class was clear and it definitely was a penalty.

100 per cent for effort for Palace but we need a creative midfielder - Rodrigues showed how much it would help us.

Eze very promising, he has the skills and the confidence. Just needs to gel with a settled forward line.

We can be optimistic for the future.

Obviously didn't watch the second half.

Unlucky today, robbed by the penalty decision. VAR is killing the game and the enjoyment of it.
Gave a very good Everton side a real game and as others have said we can draw some positives even after a defeat which wasn’t easy to do last season.
Very disappointed with Ward, no blame whatsoever with the handball and decent defensively but offers us nothing going forward, poor distribution, slow and so often the cause of our move breaking down, either from a misplaced pass or being caught in possession. To push on we really need to improve the RB position, I hope Ferguson will be the long term solution.

Ok you’re entitled to your opinion but I find that hilarious, he’s not good enough anymore. I think someone has just literally started another thread on this which is further than I’ve taken it.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I was reasonably impressed today after watching my first full game of the season.

Thought Townsend was our best player, McAthur and McCarthy worked well (Luka wont be getting back in if they perform like that). I always thought we looked dangerous when Eze was involved, pity he fidnt shoot at the end of the first half.

I thought Zaha was poor today. It was almost as if he was trying to do too much, so he would impress Anchelotti. Well, it didnt work, on that showing not sure Everton would spend big money on him.

As for Everton, when Rodiguez is the game they look very dangerous. But he faded second half and they defended more. Stop Rodiguez, they seem average again.

Rubbish. We matched them in the first half, dominated possession in the second half and should have had a draw, simple as that.
As for Eze 'needing to gel', again, crap. He gelled very well. If anyone was out of kilter with the rest of the team it was Ayew.

The worst thing is that VAR does not kill the game, but will change it completely.

When you attack and get into the opponents penanly area, you may still have 8 - 10 players between yourself and the goal.

At the same time you will have an opponent right in front of you, with his arms visible, so logic dictates that it does not makes sense to try to hit the goal, but it makes a lot of sense trying to hit an opponents arm.

That should be the aim of any team wanting to win.

Bizare, yes, but wrong??
