Well played lads.
We move in the direction of our thoughts. |

Anyone get a view of penalty shout? I thought he was clipped and BBC seem to agree

Down 2-0, I didn't anticipate such effort from the lads, even though I'm a glass-half-full fellow. Wilf's screamer energized us in ways we haven't seen in a while, and we were very unlucky that the 95th minute rebound bounced directly between our two unmarked men. I'm a proud fan, and my wife spoke the truth in saying her team, Spurs, would never have played so hard as Palace. Few would, really. Wilf's goal definitely changed the game and inspired confidence in the players. Prior to that we looked lackluster from the moment the players strolled onto the pitch. Wilf had come way off his wing a couple of times prior to that and ventured on the right hand side. A sure way to cause teams the double up on him problems. Benteke looked very good in the air when balls were launched towards him. If only we did that more for set peices and didn't try and pass the ball out of defence. PVA made up from very lazy defending when we conceded out 3rd to get the 2nd. Not that much criticism of Roy tonight as they are a good side, but certainly not the Chelsea of old (probably the worst Chelsea team we've faced since being promoted for everyone saying the leagues getting stronger). 3 holding midfielders were pretty ineffective again in terms of winning and holding onto the ball. If we could hold onto possession for longer, we'd surely have to defend less. Surely two will suffice? Some of the players looked on their last legs against a younger team but he still only made his 4th sub with 2 minutes to go. If we'd had a few more minutes at that intensity then we might have got the equaliser. All in all, a bit of a strange game.

Well, that proved me wrong - thought we would be stuffed without putting up a fight as with every match since the restart other than the Bournemouth 1st half. I’ve felt so down after watching the last 3 matches but tonight after that performance I feel like I do when we win :-) Let’s hope we take this performance into the remaining matches? Still think this squad needs a major overhaul to be able to stay up next season. But putting in performances like today next season will give this fan some hope :-)

Well played lads. Hamstring, probably a tear the way he went down which means 3 months minimum. If it’s a serious tear more like 6 months. Let’s just hope it’s not as bad as it looked.

I really hope that isn’t a serious comment. Unfortunately I think it was. Couldn’t be bothered to reply to it. Abraham is a centre forward playing for Chelsea, Meyer is a midfielder, playing out of position for Palace. Can see how it easy to compare them.

Why is everyone so worried about Cahill? He’s had a great career but is not as good as the fans think. Sakho showed tonight how much better he is than the old warrior.

Well I have to be pleased with our performance and desire tonight. We had a real go at them after Wilf scored and were unlucky not to get the draw. Thought Benteke played well and occupied their centre halves so other players could have a bit of space. Great to see Wilf switching wings and moving more (not to mention his goal) Would have liked to have seen Meyer on earlier. Good to see the team hasn't totally switched off for the season. Villa's defense is one of the worst so I am hopeful we can get a result there.
