Not a great spectacle, but we got what we deserved. Watford up to their old tactics of rotational fouling and clearly supported by a sub standard referee. Not sure why Wilf was booked since he was the one being fouled time and again. The goal was well worked and Ayew took the chance really well too, the goal keepers view was blocked by the centre backs which helped. You can’t argue with 3 x 1 nil wins back to back, can you?....

Also you're writing as if we now only have about three games to play and that we are practically doooomed! being stuck where Villa are lol .....get a grip man. Well said.

No ... if that's what it takes to climb the table. Once our safety is guaranteed though I'd love to see more football rather than theatre on the pitch.

Those Watford w@nkers irritated me more than usual today so glad to beat them. Sadly it helps Brighton. Shame the whole Holmesdale didn’t ding relegation songs at their players walking off at the end and got their last visit hopefully. Ugly team apart from Delafeou. I'd rather see Watford go down than Brighton. I enjoy our rivalry with the lot from the South Coast and to be fair they are not a bunch of dirty b'stards in the way Watford are.

Both share criticism. Roy does not have to play the same way until Newcastle and Parish kerplunk with our squad has been taking liberties for years. Liberties with various situations and people. Teams around the world do not play with RLC only or defensive training drills if they don’t. The speed at which we act after winning possession when the opposition are in front of the ball and not setup for our attack is inexcusable. Our player with the ball may as well put his studs on the ball, shout ‘Ready?’ and play the first pass sideways once we have 10-11 to play through. I’m not asking for Pardew or FDB again but a bit more urgency. That has clearly not happened but could a bit more. Edited by Rudi Hedman (07 Mar 2020 10.22pm) I agree we do need more urgency when moving the ball forward and I believe firmly that Mr Hodgson also wants this but he understands fully that taking small steps is far far safer then big strides when considering the abilities of our squad, Newcastle yesterday appeared to play very well against Southampton and Southampton have recently made us look quite poor especially at home, being able to see into a crystal ball and then determine how to set up against certain teams is not as easy as you make it or want it to appear, everyone on here understands fully your concerns and I just cannot understand how a manager with the experience of Mr Hodgson would not want to join in with you, lets see who he can encourage to join the team next season because nothing is going to change at the moment especially considering how well the squad are coping at the moment. Also finishing as strong in the table as we can will determine the standard of player we can attract and if we keep our results coming in I cannot see any reason for not improving the quality of movement moving forward next season with that in mind, small painful steps Rudi please, Roy is no fool believe me.

Spot on - I bet Chelsea can't wait to off load him now with all the injuries he has - great player on his day but not worth the risk any more I'm afraid Originally posted by kevlee
While I loved RLC when he was here surely the big issue is long term fitness. Has he even played a competetive match this season? He could be another Oxlade C / Walcott - on the sick bench more thn playing. You cant blow all your cash on a part time player.

They are tough to beat, we were ever so slightly fortunate weren't we to win that game, they are never ever going down when compared to who's down there with them and all the teams around them have very similar tough teams to play themselves anyway.
