I am vegan, although relatively new to it, I refuse to push my views on to other people as it is their choice. However, to moan about vegans always 'lecturing' you is so stupid when you see it from the other side. I get the same treatment when I tell people I'm vegan, 'lectured' on the health benefits of eating meat or any other reason why I should eat meat or just childish stupid questions. Whether you choose to eat meat or not makes no difference to me but I do think some people do need to be educated on the facts and pros and cons of both in order to make an informed decision

It is not something I will bring up without a reason i.e. being out for a meal, if some one is cooking for me e.t.c. Like any group, be it vegans, a religious group, a set of football fans, there will always be people that give said group a band name but not everyone should be judged on the actions of those people

Having ascertained earlier in the thread that killing pests is OK, would it then make sense (in the case of deer particularly) to eat the meat?
