Good post mate, this has been a great window for us because for once there's been little speculation of our better players moving away. It's settling as a fan to be in this situation for once.

For me it is so far a disappointing window. We have not got rid of any of the deadwood that are draining the wage bill and we have seen how a couple of injuries affect us and we have not added anything better than we have. Ade is potentially better than what we have but who can tell which bloke will turn up.

Was there not an improvement of Campbell this window? Is Gayle really part of AP's plans? Why a new contract for him? Lots of strange goings on but not a lot to address the injury, form, quality and confidence problems we are suffering from at the moment.

Facts are facts and we are currently over the last 6 league games the worse performing team in the league with a single own goal to our names. Other teams around us both above and below have strengthened.

As for prices of players.....wait till the summer when the new TV money comes into play then you'll see ridiculous.

Anyway still a couple of hours to go.

Do you even remember 2010-2011. We were in administration FFS and now you're complaining 5 years later about being safely mid table in the prem. Unbelievable.

The truth is that we don't NEED anybody. Yes we could do with improving our squad but it isn't worth overpaying to do so if the net result is finishing 9th instead of 13th. If you're not supremely confident that either the next signing will DEFINITELY get us into Europe or is an absolute bargain then it's pointless to spend now as the Jan window is typically way worse value for money than in the summer. Just accept that we're basically safe and worry about what we do to challenge for Europe next year.

Or would you rather we panic and sign somebody for the sake of it and risk ending up with another Mutch/Campbell/Kebe/that Spanish fella who did absolutely nothing and whose name I've forgotten?

im sick and tired of hearing the " do you not remember where we was 6 years ago"

are you still going to say that in twenty years time?

we are living in the now,not the past, the most unpredictable premierleague season in history, where its realistically possible for any team in the top ten to finish in the top 4

lets do some bloody business

It's been a solid window for me. We needed a forward and we got a very good one; easily better than any we have now. OK, there are a couple of more positions that in dreamland we could have filled but I'd rather wait for the summer and bide our time to get a top target than rush in and get someone immediately for the sake of a quick but lesser upgrade. And we certainly haven't had a poor window, which would have been doing nothing. Solid, sensible window; did what we needed and put ourselves in position to really upgrade from a solid foundation in the summer. Perhaps not headline making or earth-shattering, but shrewd, sound and sensible.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

We seem destined to disagree lately Syd. Cant see how its solid when we have a striker in who has not played since last June on a free. He may be the best thing ever to happen at Selhurst on the other hand he may be another Edgar Davids. Am willing to wait and see.

I don't think it constitutes rushing in when our injuries happened before the window opened and January is pretty much the same time every year so ducks should be in a row well before the window opens.

I would rather have seen us get some early business done. Tomorrow night we are probably going to have to start with Campbell. Thats the mark of where our forward line is and it should have been upgraded on. I love Palace and i love what the board has done and will continue to do for us but i don't see any proven improvement on quality being brought in (Ade perhaps/perhaps not) as shrewd sound or sensible especially when you think what the prices will be like in the summer. A loss tomorrow and i predict an HOL meltdown :-)

Just had £2 at 150/1 for us to be relegated.

I'm as passionate as the next guy on here but I feel we have hit the 'wall' and if we don't continue to move forward rather than consolidate then we are susceptible to the teams below us overtaking us.

We have become complacent in my eyes and we MAY pay the price come the end of the season, hence my cover bet.

How ?? Adebayor is a great signing ! I agree a massive improvement even if he plays s*** he will be better than any of our other strikers. But he's here for 6 months ! There are players available that we could of gone for as have other clubs. The players they got would of been great additions to our team, I'm not saying her could have got them but we could of tried ! Charlie Austin, shelvey, Diame, remy, berahino, doumbia all better additions to our team we could have tried harder jedinak out, Gayle out Campbell out, ledley out

Dwight gayle I got excited about when we signed him! he proved to be not good enough, and as for wickham why we signed him I don't know! Murray is better and we sold him for wickham?? My issue is we should be able to buy a decent striker with the money we have and yes in this day and age the price is about 20-30 million! it's just what it is and it's only going to get higher. How are we going to be a more attractive club in the summer after a bottom half finish ? I'd say buy now whilst we've just secured adebayor and still have cabaye. Also it's not panic buying because since December we have known about this and done nothing other than a freebie! We've left it too late once again ! I bet we wake up tomorrow morning of stories how we offered remy and other other strikers deals really late but couldn't get the deal over the line in time. Same old same old

This just simply isn't true. Remind me how much Odion Ighalo and Jamie Vardy have scored this season and how much they cost. Conversely remind me how many Benteke has scored versus how much he cost Liverpool. You can 100% still pick up bargains and you can also overspend on s***e - especially in the January window.
