From 15 months ago when those three teenagers were murdered:

"Prime Minister Netanyahu called for vengeance, and his coalition partners called for ethnic cleansing and genocide. Government faction whip Ayelet Shaked wrote: “Who is the enemy? The Palestinian people… are all enemy combatants… this also includes the mothers,” while ruling party faction leader Moshe Feiglin wrote: “The civilian population will be concentrated” and “Gaza will become part of… Israel and will be populated by Jews.”

Other public figures were even more specific, calling for sexual violence. A top Israeli academic announced that terrorism could only be averted by threatening to rape the mothers and sister of Palestinian militants. The leader of the largest religious Jewish youth group in the world called for the Israeli army not only to kill at least 300 Palestinians, but to bring back their foreskins as war trophies. The Jerusalem councillor in charge of the city’s security implored Jewish youth to “commit acts of Phineas,” a coded call to kill Palestinians and the Jews who befriend them. (Phineas is a reference to the Biblical figure who is said to have murdered an interracial couple in the middle of love-making by skewering their intertwined genitals, some rabbis say."

I trust this is what you were after Matthew. Still not quite sure why you wanted me to post it but you seemed keen so thought I would oblige.

And the source of this is?

Can't remember but if you care to google 'Ayelet Shaked:who is the enemy?' and the others then you will be enlightened.

We can, I trust, indeed, put this all to bed now.

So you haven't been able to find a quote where the current Israeli leader is calling for the 'spelling of blood'?

Are you not properly awake yet? I repeat: 'I never claimed he has' so why would I go looking for one?

I have noticed, however, your disinclination to comment on the radical, belligerent words above of other Israeli politicians and influential people.

Do you wish to remain silent on that?

Apparently, Ayelet Shaked, Israel's Justice Minister shared a post on Facebook which said the following

"The Palestinian people has declared war on us, and we must respond with war. Not an operation, not a slow-moving one, not low-intensity, not controlled escalation, no destruction of terror infrastructure, no targeted killings. Enough with the oblique references. This is a war. Words have meanings. This is a war. It is not a war against terror, and not a war against extremists, and not even a war against the Palestinian Authority. These too are forms of avoiding reality. This is a war between two people. Who is the enemy? The Palestinian people. Why? Ask them, they started...

Behind every terrorist stand dozens of men and women, without whom he could not engage in terrorism. Actors in the war are those who incite in mosques, who write the murderous curricula for schools, who give shelter, who provide vehicles, and all those who honor and give them their moral support. They are all enemy combatants, and their blood shall be on all their heads. Now this also includes the mothers of the martyrs, who send them to hell with flowers and kisses. They should follow their sons, nothing would be more just. They should go, as should the physical homes in which they raised the snakes. Otherwise, more little snakes will be raised there."

Such words from either side are incredibly shocking of course. If anything it's all too predictable how both sides view each other in a very similar light.

You didn't read that article before posting, did you?

It's referencing a third party translation of her words from a 'leftish website' and even goes so far to say that they 'might not be her words'.

I read it enough at least to understand that they aren't her words, nor did I claim that they are. I thought it was an odd thing for her to share, that's all. My contribution was to state that both side very much mirror each other in their distain for one another. It's hard to fault either for that up to a point, though it gets them nowhere of course.

"Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been criticised for saying a Palestinian leader persuaded the Nazis to carry out the Holocaust.

Mr Netanyahu insisted Adolf Hitler had only wanted to expel Jews from Europe, but that Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Haj Amin al-Husseini told him: "Burn them."

However, the chief historian at Israel's memorial to the Holocaust said this account was factually incorrect.

Israel's opposition leader called it "a dangerous historical distortion".

Read through this thread Michael.

You have constantly changed tact, not provided substantiated responses and cannot back up your claims with fact.

That is wrong. As the article said, it is playing into the hands of holocaust deniers.

Cutting edge criticism.

So, whose side are you on now peering over the moral parapet? The lovely Israeli PM who has just tried to mitigate Hitler's responsibility for the Holocaust or the Palestinian leader who condones his own people spilling their blood?

I see you remained silent about what those other Israeli politicians and influential people said in my earlier post. A 'no comment' stance is probably best given the evidence and your initial postings on this thread, so understand your difficult position on that one.

Palestinians should get rid of their leaders and appoint some people who actually care about them and are not just interested in accruing foreign aid money through slaughter. The Israeli government should stop pandering to the worst excesses of its coalition partners paranoia and work with the outside World on a viable two state system.

Is that enough for you?
