Ha ha! The chief culprit is of course, Roy's signing, Gary Cahill. Chosen for the part. Sahko, despite his many faults is capable of carrying the ball forward and finding a pass. the majority miss it though because they're too scared to watch lol

I have refrained thus far from Commenting on this subject as like all of you I'm an ardent supporter and have 40 years of supporting Palace behind me. However some of the (quite frankly) nonsense spouted on here in defence of the board, Manager, and Greedman is just red and blue tinted boillicks. We have the worsts attacking stats in the division, that can only be the fault of one man. We are still utterly inept in the transfer market, a six million buy out clause in Sorloth's contract being a case in point. Not to mention various failures in pretty much every window we've been in, resulting in panic buys on inflated wages Benheskey, and Sakho being another case in point. The board and Greedman at fault for the naivety in that mess. Still no nearer a stadium development than we were 10 years ago despite numerous pretty models being slung about. Again this is purely down to the Board and old Pinocchio. Our season on the pitch can be summarised by Hodgson's substitutions against Everton at the Weekend. 15 Mins to go, 2-1 down away from home, takes off a right back, puts a CM at RB, and brings another CM on, Leaving Andros Townsend (our only real attack minded player) on the bench. we immediately concede another. That is Roy's fault no matter how you cut it. He could have taken Benteke off put Ayew up front and pushed Wilf and Andros out wide but no, a right back goes off and Kouyate comes on. The look on Wards face as he was going off spoke volumes. Something is rotten at the core of our club at the moment, and unless something changes we are bang in trouble, and I honestly fear we will go down. Anyone looking at the next run of games and thinks will we be OK is in dream land. Take Newcastle for example they have conceeded Nearly 1.5 goals a game this season, I bet we don't trouble the keeper in 90 mins. Pathetic tactics from Roy will have us down. Edited by Dannyh.V2 (11 Feb 2020 9.59am) I for one am certainly not in "Dreamland" apropos our prospects.I am deeply concerned and have a brow corrugated by worry. We are clinging on to our PL life like a limpet to a rock. I was probably in "Dreamland" when after the Man C result, in conversation with someone from the club, I asserted that with 38 pts likely to be enough for survival we should easily attain 3 wins from the remaining 15 games. Then again I have had my sanity questioned on a number of occasions. Edited by Dannyh.V2 (11 Feb 2020 9.59am) Hodgson has been criticised for his substitutions but at the end of the day one has to rely on players doing their jobs once they cross that white line. For the first goal, Bernard was left in acres of space to fire the ball home.We have conceded similar goals this season with defenders dropping back towards the six-yard box leaving attackers unmarked to score.

Finally someone that talks sense could not agree more, people moan about the players saying we need strikers we have strikers we just dont play to them. Roy is 100% to blame, If we had big Sam now I guarentee you Benteke would be scoring goals. We all moaned about Sorloth now we all want him back. Originally posted by Dannyh.V2

You're missing the point All of their goals were defensive errors. However I'm talking about our ability to reply back. BenHeskey headed straight at Pickford when it was easier to score. he also hit the Cross bar from about a foot away, the goal he did score was pure keeper error, then he sliced a fairly easy chance wide. We go two one down. Instead of sharpening up the attack by bringing Townsend on for Benhesky pushing Ayew up to CF and wilf and Townsend getting crosses in, he utterly and ashamedly took Ward off, for Kouyate and put him in midfield and McArthur at right back. I think OLD Roy needs to have his sanity checked as I haven't seen that type of nuts substitution since that piss head George Burley played Jobi McaNuff as left back !! Enough is enough the simple fact is we do not attack teams enough to even think about winning.

I said when we were higher up the table we’d had a lot of luck with var and the odd goal going in our favour but as usual BraunstonEagle and whoever else we’re having none of it. Well now we’re right in the sh1t because there is no luck happening. Just head scratching and the insanity of the repeated crap that doesn’t work and managers have the blueprint on how to defeat it. We might find the teams around us accept their draw.

Maybe his thinking was that Benteke had scored which might give him the confidence from netting. He also came close with the header that was kept out by Pickford and he also hit a post, so it was best he retained his position in the team. The alternative was to pair Benteke with Ayew and introducing Townsend but not only would this have meant a change of shape it would have left Townsend, just back from injury, at the mercy of Digne who is good coming forward from left-back.
