Matthew - I've been waiting weeks for you to answer 'yes' or 'no' to my 'Do you want the Palestinian people to have their own country?' question which you managed to squirm around more than once yet you have a go because I didn't respond to what was a)a rhetorical question and b)amateurish goading... just a few hours ago. Typical nauseating hypocrisy from my favourite moral coward and defender of state child-killers. Edited by Kermit8 (18 Aug 2014 5.44pm) I don't recall you asking this and can't be arsed to go through 120 pages of mostly hysterical bum wad, but in answer to your question, I do support a two state solution. I don't support Hamas involvement in that two state solution and believe they are not just blocking peace but encouraging violence and also because their 1988 charter explicitly refuses to accept the State of Israel. You have dodged my questions from earlier. I won't resort to your level of insults. Your silence on the matter is telling though. I thought you were having a think?

HAMAS would have to be involved in any negotiations for them to hold any water. Presumably part of any deal would be for them to drop the anti-Isreali stuff and recognise the right of neighbouring states to co-existence. In a similar way to the deal with the IRA and Loyalist terrorists for example; most people didn't like them but recognised that thay needed to be involved in any peace process. None of this may ever happen but it would seem the only possible way to move forward.

None of this may ever happen but it would seem the only possible way to move forward. I don't disagree that Hamas would be involved in negotiations. Personally, I believe it very doubtful that Hamas would drop their hostility to Israel and change their founding charter. It would affect their credibility with surrounding states and would reduce their income from donors. Equally so, I believe that Israel would be loath to negotiate with Hamas and give them full control of the Gaza Strip and West Bank (albeit that Hamas are not as popular in the West Bank) given the recent and not so recent history with them. Other Palestinian groups have proved to be more accommodating of Israel should a two state solution be pursued and enacted. Additionally, there would have to be a change in government in Israel before this was fully pursued. I doubt the current government would be prepared to continence a two state solution.

That's the one the ordinary Palestinians want, isn't it? And you support them so it must be. Thanks for answering. Now, as you were so kind... 1) I went out with a Jewish girl more than once. Funny, bright and gorgeous. 2) The nicest bunch of teenage kids I have ever taught were Israeli back in '95. It saddens me to this day that they would soon have to don uniforms and that some of them may have got hurt/killed. 3) 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' is by far my favourite comedy. 4) The Right-Wing in Israel I can't abide and find some of them beyond inhumane.
5) Hamas - religious nutters. Now, what about your experience of Gaza and other Palestinians? Do tell.

5) Hamas - religious nutters. Now, what about your experience of Gaza and other Palestinians? Do tell. I would support a two state solution which provides security for the population of both countries, ends the bloodshed permanently, allows both countries to manage their own affairs and allows both countries to develop economically. The above list feels awfully like the ramblings of a drunk fella at a pub stating 'a load of my friends are black but...'. With regards to my interactions with Palestinians - limited - there was a chap at University and a couple of chaps of Palestinian decent who work in my circles. I don't really understand what this has to do with the questions I asked you previously, which you have not answered, by the way.

.....Mmmmm I always liked Nina Wadia....Sexy when she was young.....But she's a Parsi not a Muslim. Errr....Adil Ray is talented but Citizen Khan isn't actually all that good from what I've seen of it. Edited by Stirlingsays (18 Aug 2014 8.44pm)
