This wasnt the case with any of our previous managers. Why is is suddenly the case the Hodgson has got no say in transfers. Seems hes got a ready made excuse for failure. Roy tuned down a couple of players in the last window that SP and DF had got lined up because they did not fit into his plans that does not seem to fit with what is being said.
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Listen, results aren't too clever at the moment, and what's this 3 defensive midfielder cobblers? Look, I'll give you the next 3 games to get one win, otherwise you're out, deal?" Cue Freedman, who has been lurking offstage: Cue theatrical thunderclap, curtains close...

Taking off Ward on 79 minutes and bringing on Kouyate says it all about Roy. Get rid end of the season.

We had a system that was working with our limited squad !!!! Now, injuries have caused problems but we should never have moved Ayew away from being CF. Towewnsend being injured was an issue, so we should have played Meyer on the left instead, but Townsend is back now so revert to formula (Zaha, Ayew, Townsend). The midfield did a job with Kouyate in there. Get back to Kouyate, McArthur, McCarthy/Luka. Rieldewald was surprising us at LB, but as soon as PVA is fit he is automatically back in. Get Riedlewad back in. My word does Roy have his favourites.

Love him or hate him Roy's man management leaves a lot to be desired. His treatment of Meyer was a guaranteed confidence killer last season. Same with Sorloth. I think Sorloth is a bit s*** but ffs you can guarantee he will be a failure by giving him dribs and drabs here and there and not really having a proper look at him. We sold a player for 50 million quid who would still be in the reserves if it wasnt for an injury crisis. Hodgson just fielded a side where Wilf Zaha was the youngest ffs. Riedewald wins player of the month and then is immediately hooked - what has that got to do to a player's confidence? Ayew was finally bagging some goals and looking the part and what do we do - move him out wide for Cenk Tosun immediately, who is yet another player we dont even own. And lets not leave out Parish and Freedman here. Sure they have made some astute signings in Guaita and Ayew, but ffs how do you not buy a right back in 2 windows? Utterly ridiculous. If the yanks are cock blocking transfers then Mr big businessman Parish was a dick to crawl into bed with them, wasnt he.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

Can't see this point much on here if at all, so I may be alone in my thinking but my biggest grievance is that we are outworked by almost every single team. Not counting the x-mas rush and injury crisis, although we are not the only team to go through this, we are outworked every single game and the only way to overcome a lack of work effort is with superior talent which we don't have either. The top performers in this league are those with the highest work effort - Man City, Liverpool Leicester and look at Sheffield United. Everton, Watford and Southampton have all stepped up in this department and have been completely rejuvenated. The only game we truly turned up was Liverpool and despite the loss we were great to watch. Most games we look slow to start, losing every second ball and 50/50. None of our players beyond Wilf, Schlupp (injured) and maybe PvA have any pace and the lack of athleticism all round is painful. Some may say Ayew but he always looks quicker with the ball to me. That's one of the things frustrating me the most, not only is it dross football 95% of the time but the team looks it's age and the effort looks minimal. Things in football are always far more forgivable if you see 11 men actually giving it all they have.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

We have an ageing squad and players in the twilight of their careers do not possess the energy of their earlier years.

I've been saying all season that our players look unfit compared to the opposition. Whether this is through laziness, complacency, a poor training regime, or whatever, it needs sorting out. Said it elsewhere, everything else is excuses.
