The moaning about Parish/Hodgson/Freedman thread

If the aim of the season is to achieve relegation then we are going the right way about it. The form we see now is the culmination of poor managerial decisions on and off the pitch, but in the right here and right now what can be done to halt a worrying run of poor form? Repeating the same tactical errors game in game out show Hodgson's lack of flexibility and stubborn nature; despite being set up not to concede we are conceding regularly - surely a change in game plan is required? Teams below us have a game in hand and 3 points will put them within one game of us. Our ship is sinking, it's time to start bailing. It wouldn't surprise me that should the poor form continue and we lose the next two games, to see Parish act and install Freedman as temporary manager until the end of the season.

I’m not against 4-3-3 if it’s a genuine 4-3-3 as in the promotion season or some of the time under Allardyce. Problem is that under Hodgson it often becomes 4-5-1 with Zaha and Townsend playing like wing backs and with nobody within 30 yards of the central striker. Benteke has been poor but he can still win headers and if you play directly and quickly on occasions Zaha is less likely to be tightly marked. At the moment the laborious way we play means he’s tightly marked and very rarely in space and seems to spend most of his time in our half rather than the opposition’s half.

I’m not against 4-3-3 if it’s a genuine 4-3-3 as in the promotion season or some of the time under Allardyce.
Problem is that under Hodgson it often becomes 4-5-1 with Zaha and Townsend playing like wing backs and with nobody within 30 yards of the central striker.
Benteke has been poor but he can still win headers and if you play directly and quickly on occasions Zaha is less likely to be tightly marked.
At the moment the laborious way we play means he’s tightly marked and very rarely in space and seems to spend most of his time in our half rather than the opposition’s half.

I’ve still got a year left at Palace. I think the intention is to go back to Palace. The chairman (Steve Parish) has made that quite clear to me.

"When we paid peanuts for Jordan Ayew it was because we thought he was crap and would help in our demise back to the championship, then the bugger plays out of his skin and moves upto to middle table safety. FFS get the useless lump Benteke back in and stick Ayew out wide where he can do less damage".
