Lovely message from a Palace legend.

I can't remember a game when our keeper had less to do. As a Spurs fan mentioned Palace didn't need a keeper today !

Things are looking up and congratulations to all those optimistic people who predicted we would win, now if we can do the same to Arsenal my cup will be overfloweth ..

May I remind everyone of my prediction that Palace would UNLEASH HELL!!? And I'm normally quite pessimistic!

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Hodgson was holding us back.

This club can do better.

Absolutely class performance.

Hodgson was not only holding us back but Roy Ball was draining the life from us and killing any prospect of us ever enjoying watching our beloved team again

Can you imagine the new players we’ve just secured with Hodgson at the helm and not PV?! Can you imagine us putting in a performance like that under Hodgson?!

A sweet two fingers up to all those dull Roy ball lovers who kept telling us last season that keeping Hodgson as manager was the only way we were going to stay up! :p

Today was just simply fantastic!

That's what can happen when you set the team up properly give the players license to back themselves! Great game, fair result.

Zaha was on a mission today.
Kouyate was cutting everything out through the middle.

Eze, Olise, and Hughes still to come.

After watching that, I'm wishing I had one of these.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Great result. Imagine how good Palace will be when everyone is available:

Eze, Olise, Zaha, Gallagher, Hughes and Edouard.

Edouard can easily score 15 goals this year. Players like Zaha, Gallagher, Olise and Eze give him good service.

Now's not the time to dig up relics from the past, but absolutely.

Also missed out that Hodgson refused to put any faith in young players.

Edouard must have his song sung. I'm sure it will be great for him and make him feel at home. And I Like it

A few weeks ago I was on the transfer forum telling all the folk who were calling for Edouard to be signed that we should leave well alone. I had seen a lot of him over the last few seasons and the gradual decline in his form and attitude had me convinced he lacked the character to shine in the EPL. I did add (after we signed him) that I hoped to be proved wrong. Early days I know but what a start!
As I am 75 years old I can't see me naming my next child after him but I was impressed with what he brought to the side today. Long may it continue.

Absolutely outstanding. With better finishing and crossing from the right hand side, we could have had 5 or 6. So exciting.

Yes, an upgrade on Ward is desperately needed but at least we’ve addressed some of the other positions in the recent transfer window.
It would just be incredible if we could get Ferguson fully fit and see him join our back line.

I am also so happy with the play today. What should not be forgotten is that Roy did the best with what he had. Most of the players out of contract did not end up at premier league clubs. We also spent very little under him. This is not the same team investment has been made in younger players. It was a heartening to see this pay off today. We also had a bench that looked able to change a game. Very encouraging.

That was great, but let's treat it as the upper extent of the teams potential right now, and not the base expectation moving forward. There will be days every bit as bad as this one was good, but for the manager and players to get such a shot in the arm at this early stage of their work together will give them great confidence in what they are doing.
