It's really hard to judge not just CB but the whole team on yesterday's performance. The second half was more like a training ground game with WBA offering little resistance, especially once they went 2-1 down. Tekkers really needed that for his confidence as make no two bones about it his finishing in the last couple of years has been quite simply awful. That's easily his best game in a few years. The Bentenke-Wilf partnership did work a couple of seasons ago, so it could prove fruitful again, but I've seen my hopes dashed on the Tekkers front too many times to suddenly think he's a new man.

what I find strange about Benteke is that he doesn't seem to enjoy scoring. On the rare occasion that he's broken his duck, like yesterday, you'd think he's fed up of scoring based on his reaction to it. Therefore is he ever going to up his work rate to get on the end of opportunities like those other strikers mentioned above who clearly revel in finding the net? I can't see it happening.

I agree his lack of excitement is very annoying when he scores and that celebration of his has got to be one of the worst in football but it must have a meaning for him, but I don’t think that can be taken for not enjoying scoring. It is so easy to look at yesterday's game and think that all our troubles are over. The reality check is that it is not because until the red card incident we were struggling to contain the baggies, they were certainly on top and looked the more likely to score again. Benteke did little in the first half to warrant his selection and frankly I was worried that we were in for another defeat. After half time that all changed because the baggies decided to sit back and go for the draw which gave lots of uncontested possession. Thereafter we scored and at that point they really gave up and not notwithstanding from then on we did play so decent attractive football with little fear that our goal was under any threat. The improved form of Zaha is encouraging but without him we look very vulnerable and average because all our options centre

I love Palace and he is part of Palace. Would you rather he didn’t score today so you could keep slagging him? If he starts scoring we will do a lot better. I love Palace too and have done for nearly 60 years.

He is the perfect foil for Eze who loves to play lots of give and goes and he is very good at cushioning the ball into Ezes path. Having that option will get us goals

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I think he's all too aware of his poor scoring record and that jumping up and down when he gets a rare goal may look a bit silly. His reaction looks one of relief to me. Originally posted by Frickin Saweet
