We just lack that one player in the middle of park... We all know how hard working McCarthy and MacArthur are but we lack that midfielder with some real quality who can unlock things...

Really hope Ferguson is ready soon... Ward is so limited going forward and it shows so much.

His name is Andre Gomes and he was playing for Everton.

Guaita poor for first goal and Ward capped off another embarrassment of a display by giving away the most ridiculous of penalties.

Back to Business as Usual then.

This post may well be more embarrassing imo.

What’s with the Ward bashing?
The penalty was unfortunate and yes he is limited going forward, however, as stated previously we need a creative midfielder or these days (CAM) who can create and unlock and cause confusion whilst putting the defenders on their heels.

We get that player and we can enjoy ourselves.

By giving Batshuayi and Benteke 30 mins instead of 10 - 15 mins we might actually have equalised. But Roy insists on leaving it late at any cost. Not clever.

Nothing Ward could do about the ball hitting his hand. Got lucky last week with a similar situation, unlucky today. Everton looked the stronger side, but they have spent massively over two seasons. Not creative enough and perhaps Bats could have started.

s*** result! But very positive display till Eze was taken off! That decision baffled me, he still looked sharp!

I agree, more so than a CF I reckon

You could not fault the effort, when Eze went off dynamics changed and brining Benteke on reduced us to 10 men. Clearly we lack a gifted striker/goal poacher and we have to find one before the window comes down on Monday week!

Thought we were really unlucky today, could easily have been a draw and Everton fans wouldn't have been mad.
I think it should have been Ayew for Bats rather than Eze as all our play went through him.
Wilf was quiet too.

That's an odd reading of the game. Ward absolutely not at fault for that. Was a good game, and we were definitely worth a point. Mistake to take Eze off, and Zaha was off the boil.

I think Kouyate has been very impressive

Yes, he was fantastic In defence. Solid performance and looks a very accomplished centre back. Some brilliant interventions and just looks very assured.

Yes, poor tactical subs, far too late to influence the game and the wrong player taken off.
