WHy are people begging for the youngsters its waste of time I heard that he mentions it in his build up to this game on Palace player and just watched it he even states he wont be using them. He is also making lots of excuses up about injuries. O and on to the Zaha diehards the guy is not injured stop making excuses for him he has been awful all season and you really think is he had an injury he is going to risk himself give it a rest no he wont he wants out of this club. The players have no fight clearly not interested now we are safe and Roy is so annoying we can use 5 subs yet same old every time.

Most of us have been saying the same thing for some years We need a creative midfielder The season will fade away now ,nothing to play for ,no enthusiasm from the crowd ….. silence To be honest I can’t really see Roy playing a creative mildfielder as he likes to have 3 defensive minded men in the middle. The closest we have is Meyer and although he hasn’t really done much apart from when he comes off the bench, he barely plays and when he does it seems to be on the wing

If you just read our post match reviews it always sounds not too bad. If you watched it you realised it was awful, and Roy would rather take a narrow defeat. He's loaned out Sorloth and Wickham. He never makes subs, it's no wonder we get so many injuries.

Roy had 30 minutes at 1-0 down to make some changes and get something from the game. Instead he stood there looking gormless. Burnley were down to the bones and had to put 2 GKs on the bench. They were playing 6 defenders most of the second half. We should have gone 3 at the back and tried to widen the attack. Negative tactics and inflexible game management sum up Roys career. Oh and 28 goals in 32 games is pathetic. Personally I would have pushed one of the central defenders up front with 15 mins remaining to give us some height in attack and urged the players to get the ball into the area. We made it far too comfortable for Burnley. As for Meyer, what on earth does he offer our team?

The reality is that our two outstanding players this season didn’t perform tonight and that was the difference. Without Ayew’s individuality and Guaita’s goalkeeping we’d be relegation material. The squad is ageing and lacks balance with regard to attacking options.

It looked as if our plan was to play defensively in the first half, and then as Burnley grew tired we would take chances and attack in the second half. Unfortunately, Burnley packed the box and once they got their lucky break we simply lacked the quality to finish the few good chances we had.

I don't dispute for what earns we should expect more from Meyer but it doesn't help that he's constantly deployed out of position. He isn't, nor will he ever be a winger so why does Roy insist on playing him there? He'd learn far more to opt for Pierrick out wide and instead rotate Max for Macca so we can utilise his playmaking skills in the middle.

Meyer is not a winger nor does he fit into our team pattern in midfield. Apropos the game tonight, PVA is better attacking than defending yet where was the linkup play with Zaha down the left? It was far too easy for the Burnley players surrounding Zaha - an overlapping PVA would have given them more problems.

Massively lacklustre performance tonight with Burnley the better team. The games where we are playing those teams around us as well as below us are the ones that need to be targeted for wins but Palace just didn't look anywhere near as determined as The Clarets. Ayew v. fortunate to still be on the pitch following look up then elbow to the face. Sorry but Palace is evidently nowhere near ready for Europe and given likelihood of several key players leaving, the summer transfer market is now imperative for acquisition of quality replacements / additions.

We made it far too comfortable for Burnley. As for Meyer, what on earth does he offer our team? Decent suggestion. Mayer played the ball into Cahill in the closing minutes for his header. Excellent ball in, and Cahill seemed to have someone lurking behind him. Just taking off Townsend made no sense. Our other midfielders can't seem to do that which is why our defence was constantly under pressure in the first half. Don't think Zaha deserves the criticism he's getting. Pretty much doubled up on all game with no real support. I've seen a few times that PVA will go on a bit of a run then do a two yard pass to Zaha in front of the defence. Cant work out the point in that. They need to find space to take players out of the game and not play is the same space. Shows just how we hope to give the ball to Wilf and hopes he does something special. You cant rely on that and Dyche set Burnley up well to counter it. Ayew was our worst player tonight I thought, made the wrong decision on a lot of occation. Otherwise no poor individual performances. 1 goal every 120 minutes at home this season. About 5 from open play at home last season, a negative approach to chasing a game when relegation is almost impossible. 4 wins in a row sounds impressive, but Watford, Brighton, Bournemouth, and Newcastle are all games we should expect to win. I'd have put Max in for Jimmy Mac, possibly Riedewald on for Luka. Fresh legs who can go nuts for 20 minutes. Then if your really chasing the game Pierrick and Woods for the full backs. 3-2-3-2.
