I think they are more worried about family members who might be vulnerable if they catch the virus after the players go home having played. But presume they will be tested regularly and maybe have to self isolate or not go out - heard camps might be used ? Now that does seem to be a problem for a few footballers but would the majority be disciplined enough? Ofcouse many would say people have been doing this for weeks as key workers or if they cannot work been furloughed. Edited by Superhorns3 (18 May 2020 9.01am)

Tell the masses of people who are going to be unemployed for years, lose their homes, lose their lives as well. The cure really will be worse than the disease if this carries on. I am all for essential life back to normal. You will be told where to go the more time goes on. The vulnerable can be protected. You do not need to close the world down to do it.

We live in a country which is full of unhealthy people ranging in all different ages. The main issue has always been doesn't matter if you do not have symptoms you can be carrying the virus for weeks spreading it around and the testing is really not that great. Do I want to see football and other sports again yes but at the minute we do not have enough data to show it is safe to do so. SP is all about the £££ he doesn't care one bit about others unless that person could impact his £££.

SP is all about the £££ he doesn't care one bit about others unless that person could impact his £££. The numbers of the ‘anybody can die from this’ are so small it’s almost none. Shall we ban all life as well? The ‘(country full of?) ‘unhealthy people of all ages’’ are shielding and can continue to do so. I’ve already said this. If everyone out while it’s spread around aren’t unhealthy or old then they’re at very very very low minimal risk. That should be for the virus thread. You are petrified, fair enough. It doesn’t mean we trash the country because of your fear. The footballers can either maintain the advice or contract the virus, get football cancelled indefinitely and go on zero pay imo. This Lord explains the out in public and living situation. Edited by Rudi Hedman (18 May 2020 2.14pm)

If the players were furloughed then I could accept that football waits for as long as it takes. However it really grates that premier league players are taking huge wages whilst most of the rest of the country are 'doing our bit'.

There's a quote going around from a PL chairman saying players shouldn't be paid if they don't want to play. Strong words !

They can socially distance from people outside of football, and if they can’t, you have to ask why not. If they’re waiting for a vaccine for everyone then they may as well resign.

We are talking about football, this is not life and death, there is no need to restart under the current climate it is not essential and is just another unnecessary gathering that will increase the risk. This is all about chasing money surely it would be better to call a halt to the current season, reduce the risk and prepare for the next instead of trying to roll one season in to the next with a couple of weeks break between the seasons.

Try telling all of that to sky etc and football players and their agents regarding pay etc. You may get on better than all of them. It is a minute threat to everyone apart from the elderly and vulnerable. That is a.proven fact. Stop or carry on being hysterical if you like.

This disease can be fatal for anyone, just talk to people on the front line who risk their lives everyday to save others, this disease is horrible and believe me you do not want to catch it!

You keep saying that while 99.99% and some of us who are healthy have nothing to fear would rather not destruct the country and economy. And if players don’t want to play, don’t, and don’t get paid either.
