A marvellous day out apart from the journey to and from due to a part of the M23 being closed ! Yelps of delight when Ayew scored and at the final whistle.Quite frankly I was glowing with happiness. Just about to change into some different attire and head for a tipple or two with my dear wife.I shall raise a glass in honour of our victory!!

A lot of Everton fans were really really sad to see him go, injury robbed him there, we've hit the jackpot.

Those Watford w@nkers irritated me more than usual today so glad to beat them. Me too actually, there can’t be a more hateful pair in the division than Capoe and Deeney, absolute scum. I almost feel guilty for hating Watford so much now, because they’re such a nothing sort of club

There was a reason we were serving up negative performances. Did you happen to have a look at our injury list over Xmas and afterwards ? We got through a shocking injury crisis and are still sitting pretty in the league. We’ve played that way the whole season until Newcastle at home. I grant you Hodgson has had Parish and shareholders pile shyte on his plate but Hodgson has played the same stand off football since we lost RLC. We haven’t always needed to but we have. Then we got into Newcastle’s faces, deserved that, edged the Brighton away game and edged this one v Watford imo seeing as they could’ve scored first. Either of those could’ve sen draws. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy with the last 3 matches and strong performances even though we were slow to turn interceptions into attack today, but it isn’t just down to injuries as you think. He’ll leave attacking players on the bench when they’re needed or have us sitting back or holding back in possession whatever the score at times. It is Hodgson’s preferred football unless he has another RLC who carries the ball in addition to one or two wingers because there’s very little pattern of attacking play usually. In the RLC days there were a lot of triangles into the box but I haven’t seen much effective team play attacking wise this season for the most part. It’s far too slow and we don’t exploit the opposition caught running back or in front of the ball. We find ourselves letting them get behind the ball and we go back to CB or keeper. (Notice Macarthur and Zaha not understanding each other with balls either to run on to or come towards and Zaha expecting the other or more accurately not moving) Sadly unless we get lucky in the loan market and Hodgson gets the finished article or top top quality like RLC I expect that to continue because we won’t do it without. Maybe the academy players not being blocked by new signings might help lol. Nice one Steve. We’re all 13. Edited by Rudi Hedman (07 Mar 2020 9.25pm)

McCarthy is going to be massively popular. He's such a little s***, doing everything he possibly can to keep the 3 points. Sneaky, sneaky win-at-all costs pro. Loved him today.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

Great to see us get in their faces today. Dirty load of slags. Thought we looked up against it but a found some quality at a key moment and turned the game in our favour like we keep doing. Kouyate and McCarthy were class.

We have been stubborn and resolute in defence but we have also very much had the rub of the green over the last few games. Zaha is not playing well and there is little penetration up front. Given that we're pretty much safe, I'd like to see Hodgson drop Wilf for a game or two and give Andros a run with either Jordan playing more on the left or centrally (putting CB on the bench and giving Schlupp a run too.

It's never bad to err on the side of caution is it and considering our positioning today I think you're being slightly hard on our manager there. So, are you being critical of our managers ability to move players forward with the ball? or are you being critical of the clubs ability to find suitable players to help our manager move the ball forward?

We are more than safe and the only time we looked in trouble was the weekend of the Newcastle game and the only reason we were in that trouble is because we were decimated with injuries over Xmas and beyond. We now have a full strength squad to finish off the season and I for one am feeling very positive about it.

I do agree we played some lovely football around that time but we in a better position in the table and that will do me. Are you trying to blame Roy on McCarthur and Zaha not understanding each other ? McCarthur’s passing was all over the shop today and has absolutely nothing to do with tactics.

Both share criticism. Roy does not have to play the same way until Newcastle and Parish kerplunk with our squad has been taking liberties for years. Liberties with various situations and people. Teams around the world do not play with RLC only or defensive training drills if they don’t. The speed at which we act after winning possession when the opposition are in front of the ball and not setup for our attack is inexcusable. Our player with the ball may as well put his studs on the ball, shout ‘Ready?’ and play the first pass sideways once we have 10-11 to play through. I’m not asking for Pardew or FDB again but a bit more urgency. That has clearly not happened but could a bit more. Edited by Rudi Hedman (07 Mar 2020 10.22pm)
