Just back from the game...
Thoroughly enjoyed the match.
We were by far the better side. Their MOM was easily their keeper. But for him it would have been three or more. Our Vince had to make one good save.
Gayle came on and I saw nothing of him.
Well done Palace ... all of you.

We move in the direction of our thoughts.
Just think a little.

Glad to see Guiata kicking the ball up field more often instead of letting the back 4 played the ball up from the back. Also, I saw less of the backward and sideways passings.

Van Aanholt's free kick was excellent of course but the delivery from corners, some taken by Pat and some by McCarthy were much more threatening than in recent weeks. I think Pat should be the nominated taker of free kicks..he has additional pace on his free kicks compared to Luka.

100% agree, but expect Luka to take them all when he returns, unfortunately

Great game. We bossed it, never really felt too nervous (well maybe a couple of times).

Didn't miss Luka at all, he's been poor all year, hope he is a sub from now on. Thought Kouyate was excellent today. As much as people said Zaha not in the game he single handedly made them have 3 yellows and a red. Sometimes it's more than it seems.

Yeah, I think I unfairly criticised him halfway through the game but with Newcastle playing with wingbacks it meant Wilf permanently had two markers on him which was always going to keep him a bit quiet. What that did though was open up the centre of midfield which we totally bossed. I agree, Kouyate was excellent and that run he made in the second half was Vieraesque.

For all our complaining it was our midfield three that bossed that game meaning Newcastle barely got a sniff. We should have won that by 3 or 4 and Newcastle were once again the worst PL team I've seen, but fair play to Roy and the team because they were far more dominant than the score suggests. If I was a Newcastle supporter I would be pretty worried as they play teams in the bottom half over the next 6 games but currently I fancy them struggling to get points against any of them. I would give PvA motm for doing what our strikers couldn't do and for some great free-kicks, but Kouyate a close second.

by far our best showing of the season. Ayew was great but he did miss two sitters.

I was so pleased to see us press.

Very relieved. But....
Our finishing is truely appalling. I know Ayew works hard, but he is supposed to be a striker, a finisher. His finishing from chances is rubbish
And in the top 10 of s*** Premier League strikers Benteke must be top by miles. Is there any striker on his money where near him in this regard??

Lucky win. Played against the poorest team in the PL in terms of possession and attacking football (yes, much poorer than Norwich).

11 matches to go, still a long distance. Other matches won;t be as easy as against Newcastle. But perhaps the team can gain momentum

Next year definitely should be something else and I have no faith in the possibility of the management to make a good squad.

Absolute bs. Did you watch the game/ Nothing about that win at all

The stats 18 shots, 9 on target is a huge improvement. Far more purposeful display. Gives me hope.

But....

Dear Christian (and Roy),
I'm sorry your confidence is shot. For all I know you're suffering from depression. However the remedy for your recovery clearly isn't you playing week in, week out. Game after game you are totally inept at converting good chances and, let's be frank, that's what you're paid a fortune for.

You are a wealthy man now. You could retire and still enjoy football, perhaps with a pub team.

This may sound a little cruel but when I think I worked for more than ten years to earn what you are donated in one month, I don't care.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.
