We can't start from scratch because we've burdened ourselves with ageing, average players on big money that nobody else will buy. We need to stay up simply because we can't drop down to Championship-level revenue (i.e. an absolute pittance) while maintaining the squad that we've got.

What is needed is a complete rethink of transfer policy, buying in younger players with resale value - but this has to be a gradual process and we need PL revenue to keep us from complete financial ruin until we can replace most of the playing squad.

You are so correct, this is because Parish has not got a clue about how to succession plan and DF is his ''yes'' man, its a bit like Boris, he only wants people around him who do not disagree with him. We have had plenty of chances in the last two or three windows if not more to sign good value younger players but each time it has been a loan or aging players at the end of their career, I suspect Cahill signed for us not because he like SP/DF or indeed Roy but because he did not want to move house and therefore wanted to stay in London. I really find it sad that so many younger players who have been linked to us always seem to fall down at the last hurdle, its almost seems that once Parish gets down to talking terms, he makes the club toxic!

I mentioned this in Transfer Talk last month but Parish doesn't seem to endear himself to prospective players. Dan Gosling complained that he had a medical for us went back to his hotel room to wait and never heard from Parish again.

Then there was the striker a few years ago that went out to dinner with Parish and was left to pay for his own.

Which is starting from scratch no?

Looking at this summer as a clean slate, so from now until then looking at ways to get rid of the dead wood..

Sakho - get him sold, loaned out in the summer - do what it takes to get it done. To injury prone and isn't the future.
Dann - done I believe in summer.
Meyer - Cash in - it's just not working.
PVA - Cash in - better options out there.
Wickham - sell.

Zaha - time is right to sell.

A LB, RB main priority as are two strikers. Loan market could work well.

Telling me starting now, this can't be achieved by late July?
Then moving on from there, it's all about youth and resell and using a proper scouting network?

Plus two CB’s to replace the Sakho and Dann I agree should go, plus the winger to replace zaha, a number 10 etc etc etc. It’ll take a while to address this ageing squad.

With Parish in charge it couldn't be achieved by late August.
