From purely financial terms, and to show how much of a burden it is not, as the vast majority of immigrants are employed their tax payments over the year will be much higher than the tax credits. Also, the limit for receiving tax credits you have to be as a couple or single earning less than £28,000 a year. To be a net contributor to the state coffers, you need a household income of more than £33,000. Anything less than that, and you receive more than you pay - you are a net recipient, and either another taxpayer is paying for you, or the government just piles it into the deficit mountain. Folded into that are payment-in-kind benefits. Who knows what "household" really means in this context though, when you have 8 poles crammed into a house and they send large sums home each month (thus negating the VAT take on their spending).

I was about to post about capital flight and then I looked at the thread title. Gone a bit off topic.

The thread title stopped being important when Gusset found out that the attacker was Black and so the story was not suitable for his, everyone is now a fascist, post Brexit, which is all the Tories fault nonsense. Ruined his day probably.

Wtf how am I...I said I have a laugh with some, and was stating that a lot of them live in shared accommodation with each other that's how they can afford to live on their wages......read the f***ing post nick...no link, You did it in the same sentence though, which to someone who has marked and corrected hundreds of pieces of writing in my time, is plainly wrong. It was bad sport of me I accept, but I couldn't help myself. Sorry. I get the gist of your point which is that immigrants are doing all they can to alleviate the housing problem by sharing and that kind of thinking should be applauded. Ruined his day probably. Really? I can't believe you don't think the rhetoric of Brexit had zero effect on the rise in hate crime even though research has shown it has. I didn't know islamophobia was restricted to white people. Why would being black stop someone who was shouting I want to kill a Muslim before stabbing someone stop him being an islamophobia?
