That's fantastic, and the BBC deserve everything they get for taking free licences away from the elderly, above inflation rises and not being politically neutral!

That's fantastic, and the BBC deserve everything they get for taking free licences away from the elderly, above inflation rises and not being politically neutral! You reap what you sow. When the BBC agreed the new licence terms they wanted a built in inflation increase in return they agreed to take responsibility for funding the over 75's deal, this was at the height of austerity. I can only assume they did this thinking that once their mate Jezza was in power it would never happen or the Tories wouldn't dare carry it out, so they thought we get our automatic increase with no downside. Now they have the cheek to complain about a deal they signed and don't like. When this first came up I predicted that the public would either blame the BBC or more likely the government. Well at the moment the lion's share of the blame appears to be falling onto the BBC they have miscalculated and presented their opponents an open goal. The governments move to decriminalise the licence fee is a smart one. When the public realise that normally law abiding citizens are getting criminal records for non payment and that this disproportionately affects vulnerable people and women the sympathy vote for the beeb goes out the window. I am not going to pretend that the government isn't out for revenge over perceived BBC bias but what has the BBC done to refute that claim. As Trevor Phillips has said it's not just news and current affairs through out the different departments espcially drama there is a left wing agenda. In some ways the BBC is like the Labour party the more they are told they are out of touch with their viewers the more they double down on woke programming. They will have the shock of their lives if the licence is ever abolished.

On Radio 5 this morning Rachel Burden whom I rather liked used the word "woke" in a comment that she made. I have no idea what this word means and can only assume that it's just another example of the BBC dumbing down. Rachel Burden has gone down in my estimation for using slang

Classic "Unconscious bias" for me. In long hand "I know you're a racist but I can't prove it because you haven't said or done anything that is overt so I'll just make up an expression to tar* you" *Oops probably shouldn't use that word it must be my unconscious bias.

Jameela Jamil announces she is ‘queer’ after backlash over TV role Second headline on BBC website after Scottish MSP confirming that he is queer too and grooming a 16 year old Interestingly the Jameela article was written by Ben Hunte the BBC's LGBT correspondent

On today's BBC website the main headline is quite rightly about the death of the Chinese doctor that broke the story of the virus but the second headline is :- Phillip Schofield comes out as gay That's the third headline this week about LGBTGTXYZ. As Status Quot might have sung "down, down, dumbing down"

It's a bloody joke, no one cares he is gay and it's the liberal lot making a fuss about it. If they wants gays to be accepted they need to stop giving the shock factor.
