Question……can Chelsea recall Gallagher in January if they want ?

Almost certainly. They seem to be thinking seriously about recalling Gilmour from Norwich because of lack of game time. Perhaps, they'll offer Gilmour to us if they do recall Conor. Having said that, I would be surprised if they did recall Conor in January. He's progressing so well with us with the game time he's getting and is playing under one of the finest midfielders of the last 40 years.

I suggested to a Chelsea fan I know that Chelsea would be happy to sell him because they are so well stocked with midfielders. He disagreed as he thinks Gallagher is just the sort of player Tuchel likes.

If however they do opt to sell him I suspect that his performances are putting him out of our price range.

Love to be proved wrong but I suggest we enjoy him while we can.

I would swap Gallagher for Eze plus £15 million without a moments hesitation!

I think Eze has a much higher ceiling than Gallagher - far more technically gifted and a much rarer skillset.

To be clear, I think Gallagher is bloody phenomenal, but I prefer Eze.

Gallagher was pretty unremarkable on loan at West Brom, he has just found his niche with us.

He has found his fit, imo.

I really like Eze. He had 2 real stand out moments last season , both against relegated Sheffield United, drifts in and out of games. . Gallagher has done it against the top teams already, think he was off the pace in one game. I’d like to keep both, but currently I think Gallaghers more important to what we need. If he’s injured there isn’t a decent replacement. Eze will need to work his way back in the team.

In all honesty very few players shine in a rubbish team like WBA at that time. He was pinned to his penalty area most of the time and never got to go on the marauding runs that he does here.

Eze doesn't defend and is quite frankly a tad slow,Gallagher does the lot with bells on !

Tuchel was raving about Loftus-Cheek's performance against Malmö last night. He obviously thinks highly of the lad who did such a good job for us a coupla years ago.

It's going to be agony next season seeing him AND Gallagher tear the opposition apart for Chelsea and hearing Tuchel waxing lyrical about his players.

As much as I want CG to stay with us, it's clear that if he continues playing like he has been recently, Chelsea will call him back.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

We might have to nobble him nearer the end of the season, like they do greyhounds a Melton Mowbray pork pie just before kick off would work a treat.
