I'm not convinced just because Benteke scored a couple of goals against one of the worst team in the PL that he is going to improve or be more consistent. He is never going to be able to reach Jamie Vardy's work standards, even Bamford is a better striker and certainly has a greater work ethic. We need to address the striker problem in January window, whilst today was great and I'm thankful for the points the performances against Newcastle and Burnley still hurt! Lolololol

I hope he gains confidence from today and keeps going but thought in the first half he failed to put his head on or make contact on two good crosses and a third, which was hung up well for him, he headed to Johnstone's near post rather than back across. He also looked poor challenging their central defenders when they got the ball.

Decent centre forward performance today. Offers more up front than Bats or Ayew. Hopefully he gains confidence from the goals today and stops reading the posts on this site!

Now is surely the time to cash in (well, January)? It would be absurd to sell ANY in form players in January. One swallow does not make a summer but let's hope Benteke's goals have boosted his confidence and he kicks on from here.

One good game in two years and now everybody loves him. I love Palace and he is part of Palace. Would you rather he didn’t score today so you could keep slagging him? If he starts scoring we will do a lot better.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Benteke.' by Guntrisoft I think he's lucky that he's still playing in the top flight after such a lengthy drought, while still on superstar wages. However I really hope today's double will bring back his confidence and the striker he once was.
I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything. |

One good game in two years and now everybody loves him. Because he doesn't score doesn't mean he's had a bad game, today is a good day for him and us because his confidence has been given a lift, surely you can see this.

He seems to have grown sharper recently. I was looking forward to seeing him play today. There have been many times I would not have said that Anazing that he comes good at the end of his contract and just in time for the Jan transfer window or am I just being cynical?

What impressed me most yesterday was the composure he showed for his second goal. The turn and shot was not that of a player devoid of confidence. Maybe he has turned the corner with that performance, maybe he hasn’t, but I prefer him and Zaha together over the Zaha/Ayew partnership.

Say what you will I am pleased for him, it must be incredibly frustrating to know you can do it but fail to deliver. Lets hope he goes on to greater things with us he's only 30 after all.
