The players available will allow a difference in tactics.

So far he’s started 0 new players.

It took him 6 defeats on the bounce to change the system.

Eze Is best as an attacking midfielder, not a left wing.

Plan A has worked twice this season. We’ve not had to revert to our non existent Plan B. We’ve had not evidence of subs or set plays improving.

Many flaws probably remain, but at least he’s no longer playing 3 holding midfielders.

Overall not a bad window and start to the season though, eh?

He gave a tactical masterclass on Saturday and has made attacking subs in both of our wins this season.

This was my point ... its tactics, not the team. This is the Same players as last season. Yet we started quickly against utd, and countedr attacked quickly. How many times last season did this team just defend deep fist half and invite teams into us. Even poor teams.

I am struggling to see why Parish has not read him the riot act and kicked him out after yesterday's farce.

His professed skill is to build a watertight defence and what happens some blood no one has ever heard of and newly signed gets a goal. Now for me there is only one Donny and he sang duets with his sister Marie.

So enough is enough. We will never get anywhere letting people who are making their debut score like that.

I see some on here say we scored three at Old Trafford including a penalty, but I just don't buy that. Fergus was there and no one gets a penalty at Old Trafford when he is in attendance.

Just enjoy the season. We all know we win some we loose some. We play great football one game and then dreadful football the next game and go on winning streaks then loosing streaks without scoring.

We usually get around the 45 point mark so im not worried and not going to throw my toys out the pram when we loose to s***e team

Most of the home games as I recall!

However we did have a good go at Liverpool in the autumn home game - one of those rare occasions where you came out of a match having lost and thinking the boys had played well and were unlucky to lose.

Great post this. 100% agree.

A minority of fans always want the manager or (even more bizarre) the board out. They never provide any thought Or rationale to an alternative, they just assume a change will be a hell of a lot better. If the minority took their red and blue glasses, they would realise we are probably where we should be.

- First time in the premier league we have won our first two games of the season.
- back to back wins at Old Trafford.

We are doing ok, enjoy the season and let’s see what happens

My main gripe with RH was that even with the 40 point safety net pre-lockdown, he never appeared to want to look to the future. there was no giving youth a chance, just going with the same ageing squad, with little hope of signing anyone to change this. (based on previous windows). without a change in mentality, relegation, in the next couple of seasons was inevitable.

What happened over the summer was a visible change in tack to buying youth, albeit for the academy primarily, but also recognising our weak areas (creativity and Goals!) and attempting rectifying them - again with youth.
Hodgson will have had a hand in this. So fair play to him. Knee jerk reactions are not helpful, especially so early in a campaign.

It is yet to be seen if he falls back to his seemingly default stance of safety first football, but for now, 6 points and 4 goals from 2 is a decent start, and there are encouraging signs. He deserves some time now to see if he can take us to the next step in our development.
