We owe Wilf nothing, he's been handsomely paid and routinely idolised for playing for us so the notion that we should take any less than our valuation of him is insane. That being said it's time he went. Heart clearly not in it anymore and we have so few attacking outlets in our side that teams can double up on him knowing that we won't exploit the gaps they have left open, which is why we were so good with Bolasie on the other side. If selling him meant that we could potentially recruit Eze and a couple of other young, hungry attacking players from the lower leagues then I say go for it.
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold... |

It will be up to Mr Parish and the other owners whether to entertain an offer taking factors into consideration.

I know he's had a poor season, but can you really see Parish letting Wilf go for 30m having been supposedly holding out for 80m only a year ago? 40/50m plus add-ons would possibly be accepted. Personally, albeit probably unrealistically, I would favour he went to Chelsea and we get Hudson-Odoi and Batshuayi, with neither player seemingly seen as first-team starters by Chelsea but both would be very good for us. When Vardy wasn't scoring Leicester weren't winning, which must be a big worry for them given his age. They have probably far exceeded their expectations this season and if someone poaches Maddison they might start to look quite ordinary; would Wilf risk ending up at a club which is not really any bigger than Palace, but which has admittedly done well in recent years? Possibly if they get CL I suppose. I still think he's pushing for Arsenal and it'll come down to whether they can raise the funds to buy him. Anything else I think would feel like a consolation prize in his eyes. Given their lack of creativity in midfield he could do well there as well. Apart from the clubs at the very top, it's a different financial world from a year ago. My feeling is that Parish while pricing Zaha out of a move then, realises that given Wilf's performances this season and the need to raise funds, will be much more realistic this time out. I really don't see Chelsea being interested but if they were then Bats is a potential part exchange but Hudson-Odoi is a total non-starter. As an aside, I really don't like the guy either - I think he's trouble and would not be a good fit for our dressing room. As for Leicester....bank rolled owners, newish stadium and competing at a far higher level than we are - I'd say they were bigger than us for sure.

Leicester's 'Net Spend' over the last 6 seasons has not been that gargantuan. They have averaged a 'Net Spend' of around £25 Mill per season over the 6 seasons.

Wilf simply has to go this transfer window. His performances this season have been average at best. And we can't afford another sulking Zaha next season. Parish just has to get the best deal he can for him this window. Hopefully, a mini bidding war will ensue. He will probably end up at Arsenal. The funds will hopefully goto the purchase of Eze or Edouard. Maybe what is left over will be used for Flynn Downes (Whose name is cropping up again).

To me it's almost as if wilf has reduced his transfer fee by his performances, perhaps that's being nasty but his transfer valuation is no where near what it was last year, depends if parish agrees or not.

Of the seven matches we have lost we actually were unlucky against the teams that are 3rd and 4th in the league so I'm going for a draw at least. It's just a shame we are so thin on the ground because of injuries etc but most of you will be happy if we lose, will give you more to chew on until 12th September.
