They can be made redundant but it would mean paying the rest of their contract up. That makes no sense. Yes they’re secured creditors under football rules.,

Yes they’re secured creditors under football rules., Which in my opinion is wrong, This is a deal with the PFA, apparently it is not the same in Scotland. Portsmouth were signing players when they were in financial trouble the players didn't care as their money was guaranteed whilst the non playing employees weren't. If the players are on the same footing as non playing staff their agents will take more interest in how well a club is run. In turn badly run clubs will have difficulty signing players and so should get their act together. On 30 June 1400 players in the EFL will be out of contract. This is fairly standard for this time of year however it is likely that many will be offered reduced terms or will have to find a new club as the lower leagues will cut back on their first team squads. The lucky few will be in demand so let's hope that Palace keep their eyes open. Additionally players on big wages and under contact may be moved on if there is a willing buyer. Expect to see a lot of activity this summer in the EFL however it will be a buyers market.

I can only see a rise in infections relaxing lockdown, without proper testing you are quite correct, without test, track and trace we are at the mercy of the vaccines whenever and if, they become available. The current thinking of the clubs is the TV money over the safety of players, many of whom seems to be frightened to restart and frankly I do not blame them as it may put them and their families at risk as well!

Forego full pay then. It’s really that simple. No play no pay. Or £2,500 a month until end of June and less until end of October. If they’re unwilling to not play for a long time then no pay is a serious consideration. I really couldn’t care less. I’d be happy to scrap them all and start again. The Germans and Brazilians would have the World Cup and Euros nailed for more than a generation though. May as well invite Brazil into the Euros. It’s a bit sh1t when we invite more than the 8-10 decent teams.

These are strange times, the Brazilians are in the same boat, but probably worse off because of their healthcare system, we should be really grateful for our NHS and accept that things will not be quite the same for sometime to come and please do not forget there are some 34K plus people who are no longer with us due to this disease, its horrible so you cannot blame anyone who is afraid it's all about life not money right now!

Thinking what happens if we get to about 2/3 weeks till the end and football had to stop ? Do they just hold the positions and wait for it to restart again and it doesn't matter how long that takes ..

I’d just use the points per game calculation and I’d expect Brighton to spend some time in the bottom 3 so here’s hoping. It needs to be agreed beforehand though.

Unless they have some underlying health issues I don't see any reason for them to be scared. AS for the footballer above he is a good player but I have yet to see him justify the hype maybe he should focus on why that is. At the moment he is just confirming my prejudices that players are just self entitled hedonists. How many have now been caught breaking social distancing rules?
